The car looks awesome. I don't think you'd better drive with us if you want it to stay that way.

Seriously, silver really accentuates the lines on the car, and the interior color is a fantastic compliment too. And if Doug Pirrone was impressed with the condition that says a lot as well. Looking forward to meeting you.

Had a great morning. It was nice meeting everyone and seeing some great cars. Instead of going back and detailing the car I drove it around for the rest of the day. I'll detail it another day!

Here is a photo of Andy's 308 and my Mondial.

Looks like I'm going to miss the running of the Bulls next weekend (looking at colleges for my daughter) but I'm going to try to hop over to the car show at Flowerfield in ST. James on Saturday for a few hours.

I saw on the Cannillo site that the silver Mondial was sold. Now I know by who.

Congratulations! Another Mondial cruisin' "the Island".

Wow, they are gone. There are NO ADS in the V-6 and V-8 section. Obviously, something is wrong. Hopefully, Rob will get that straightened out ASAP!

    Hey Doug,

It's Michael Cannillo. And I hope all is well and you're enjoying the Mondial. It was a really nice car. And I appreciate hearing on line that you liked the car. Since I've only been a car dealer for a couple of years, good press helps! I try my best to sort through all the garbage out there and bring only good cars to the market on Long Island.

However, I just wanted to respond to all the Mondial owners out there who kept saying that mid to low 20's was too high for a good Mondial 8. This is a serious misconception and a trap that gives Ferrari ownership a bad name in terms of repair and service costs. Sure, you can find Mondials out there for the mid to high teens. But to buy one at that price (a bargin?) will usually mean a car in fair condition. And a Ferrari Mondial 8 in fair condition usually means a car with needs, and not just regular service issues, but repairs too. This usually means repair and service bills starting in the thousands of dollars on a good day. Plus when you finish, you still only have a Ferrari that's cosmetically in fair condition and you now own the car for $25,000. And then to sort it cosmetically, the sky's the limit. Where do you go from here?

To spend a few extra bucks to get a car in spectacular condition is probably the best thing a first time Ferrari owner could do for himself, no less a long time owner. So to buy that Mondial 8 for $22,500 might have been a bargin.

As a reputable dealer, we should be getting more for our cars due to the fact that we sell well serviced cars. When I bought the car I sold you it was in excellent condition and I still had to put in $2,500 to prep it for sale. And any Mondial in progressively worse condition (good, fair, poor.....), you could have started doubling, tripling and quadrupling that figure. Again the sky's the limit. And that's what happens to a lot of people who buy 15, 16, $17,000 Mondials, thinking they're getting a good deal.

I don't mean to blab on about this, but there are really very few bargins out there. And you have to work for it. (ie., I do it for a living...) You get what you pay for. And if you're on the wrong end, it could be a nightmare.
That's it, I made my point and it would be cool to hear what other people think about my point, no matter what level of ownership you're at.

    Hi Mike,

Stopped by your place the other day with a few friends to take a look at your current inventory. We just missed you. We'll try again next week.

BTW - the car is everything you said it was! It is solid and running fine. I've had it in the garage for a month now and not a drop of fluid on the floor. ;-)

    Thanks again.

I agree that a sorted out Mondial 8 is well worth 20,000. It is just very hard to find such a car. I must say, that Doug's is a very nice car and if it really doesn't need much, he bought well. I also agree that, depending on your budget, you may be well advised to buy a $22,000 Mondial 8 that needs almost nothing over a later model for, say, $28,000 that needs another $10,000 or more to get in shape.

Your absolutely right. The story's the same to spend mid twenties on a Quattrovalve or high twenties for a 3.2 mondial in fair condition or even good is a mistake if you could buy a spectacular one for a few thousand more. Again, you'll need to find a reputable dealer not one out for a quick buck selling cars with needs.
