Nice looking car. Is the dash Mahogany? you don't see many dash's that aren't burl or something highly figured, interesting to see a quiet cut grain.

btw, the leather piece on the seat, the one that looks like a prop from Pulp Fiction, what is that? or should I not ask....

    Hi

I got them in 1971 with my Lola. They were mounted with Firestone race tires. I think they were extra wide Can AM wheels Donohue tested on my Lola.

We've built a duplicate fuel tank to accept the bladder. (We'll put the original in the museum along with this original NART Quick Jack.

Phone Photo of the start of spyder conversion of 0846. I know we have to cut the sill even with the door shut line (P3)
and revert tail back to P4 FI deck. Carb hump will go back on 0854 where it belongs. Remember 0846 had FI P4 deck/ tail, this one is from 0858, but P3 bottom edge of tail/door shut line.

Phone photo of the start of mounting the original coupe tail back on 0854.
Tail bulkhead is out being sand blasted by Jesse. When it's installed roll hoop and top of tail will line up.
Note orginal paint on coupe tail which we're going to try and save as much as as possible.

    Nice work!

What paint are you using for the wheel rim interior 'webs', Mr. G.???
The white paint in the photo...

I have been real reluctant to do anything other than clean my factory finish in that area, only respraying the front and rear faces......the inside of the rim is still pretty clean, on mine.

I have about that many wheels.......it happens, when you get a couple of ol' cars.........LOL!

We've been known to use the cover of the phone book Yellow Pages, for base gaskets, but that was real late, one night......those look 'perfect' to me!!!!!

    Hi
That is epoxy designed to stop corrosion and seal the inside. Mag wheels are porous and if you don't seal them they will leak and corrode.

One thing we always try to do is use the tools they used on the day. Too many cars parked on the lawn been fixed with lasers IMHO...

    Great stuff! :)

Great that Sal is helping Jesse learn it old-school... but did the original craftsmen wear flip flop sandals when using heavy tools and equipment? ;)

    Keep the pics coming!

0846 under the knife. After discussions with pininfarina we've come to realize that the rear roll hoop (basket) was raised on the spyders to act as a spoiler.
    Pretty interesting.

All the side views of the spyders do show that the 'basket handle' does run back horizontally or very nearly so, presumably to smooth the airflow and present the least resistance.

    Hi
Yes you are right. Sal threw a level and matched to these historical Photos of 0846 which show a more rounded basket handle.
    What do you think?

The Ferrari Club SW region has an event this weekend at Mequiars home offices in Irvine with hands on experience supervising newbies to manual and power tools. This is an EXCELLENT way to educate yourself of techniques and products.

If you haven't attended before, I can't recommend it enough.

LOL! Looks like Sal has it down already.....that's my favorite, the grinder!

Although the sawzall and port-a-band are close behind.....

BTT for progress photos!! Have a great weekend!

I always look thru your pics, when I get discouraged, with mine. Thanks!
