There are 61 360's for sale on ebay as of 10/14. Does that seem like a lot? Maybe due to the 430's becoming more available? I've seen these cars selling for sub 100K as of late...

    If you can find me a good-condition, full-serviced, low-mileage 1999 360 sub-100K, let me know - I'll take two. - ;)

But I take your point. Directionally, these cars are only heading one way. And it ain't up. You'll see more cars, and more pricing pressure in the coming months.

If only I was 5 year older.... a '99 360 would be a steal. Sort of like the late 90's 456's...

But good luck finding more than a few to choose from if you're looking for anything other than the ubiquitous red/tan F1.

I wonder if the production numbers for the 430 are going to be the same as that of the 360. That in turn makes me wonder if the 2nd hand market for the 430 eventually will be the same as it curently is for the 360. If yes, then I think the CS (for any given generation Berlinetta) will be the car to hold on to. Either way in 3 to five years, the 2nd hand market will be very interesting, with all the 997 TTs and 430's, and not to mention Vanquishes and DB9s for bargain prices.

Anybody have a guess where 360 prices will bottom out in the next 3 or 4 years? What do you think will happen to 355 and 348 prices as a result? There will sure be a bunch of cars on the market. Curious to hear what you all think.

You might find a 348 or a 355 at youe local Honda/Toyota dealer soon. Maybe a 360 at the Benz dealers. I could see the 360 going down to the 90's in 4 yrs...

the large numbers produced versus the difficulty in performing "normal" servicing will certainly affect the price points of the cars. the new generation of cars cannot be easily serviced by as many independent shops. perhaps this will change. CS cars with the 6 speed will be the one to get. the F1 trans may be a bit of a drawback as the cars get older. the glut of 360's will effect the 348/355 and older TR modles, me thinks. the older cars with carbs will likely find some equilibrium, as there is a niche demand for those cars.

    Jay,

I'm calling B. S. on this one with you for the i've seen cars selling for sub 100K. You must have seen a challenge car be offered for that. I will pay a $5K finder fee if you can get me a 360 that passes a PPI for $100K let alone sub $100K.

No offense, I think you are talking out of you arse on this one. When was the last time you bought a Ferrari 360 Modena?????????????????

You price index is in left field.

It is always the guys who don't own one that seem to be lowering the price on god knows what. For every $100k Modena (which I have yet to see) there are a million stories about the car. We have to keep the curb hoppers away from here.

The car on ebay for 98K has ended, but there is one now for 105k & 110K. I'm not sure about condition of these but who knows. On cars.com there is a car at 99K, 100K and 109K. So they are out there....Don't know if it would pass a PPI...

I've had my dealer (a Porsche dealer where I bought my 355, as there aren't any Ferrari dealers in Pittsburgh)looking for a 2000 360 Modena F1 for me for several months now. There's plenty of cars at very reasonable prices, but we haven't found one in my price range ($120-125k or so) that has proper maintenance documentation and no "history". It seems that the desirable cars are all $135k and up.

Depending on whether you're buying or selling, that's either good or not so good.

How difficult is it to bring a euro over - worth it? I would think that with the federalization, the US would be less expensive in the end.

Cavallino's current price guide has '99-'04 360 modenas and F1s valued between $105k-145k. It's not a stretch to assume that cars are actually trading hands for under $100k. In the months to come considerably more will be doing so. No, I don't own a 360, but I am in the market for one, so I am doing a ton of due-diligence. In the Ferrari world, the 360 is anything but rare.

Lawwdog, can we hold you to that $5k finder's fee? I think it's reasonable to assume that Mr. Stockpicktrader would be willing to knock 7.5% off of his asking price. Recent major service and a new tubi exhaust. Now all we need is the PPI.

    Lawdog,

I used to be in the market for a modena (00 or later model) but decided against it because of the CS and the 430. The prices I was quoted ranged between 140 K to 170 K depending on mileage options and of course year. However, lately I've seen high mileage "99 modenas around 100K USD and even 1 below (100K USD)
If I had pulled the trigger on a modena for 140 K, and had read Jays post I'd want to call B.S too. However, I've seen modena prices as of late. If you shop around I'm certain a "99 360 could be had for something slightly south of 100 K. It wont be perfect specimen but certainly a well kept car for being 6 years old. In the end 99% of all cars will follow the normal automotive depreciation cycle. Granted that any F car is more depreciation resistant but at the number the 360 was produced at, sub 100K is not something to be surprised over.
    -Peter
Ps thats a very nice modena u got there.=)))
