hello chaps, since i bought my 355 2months ago i have had what i describe as a misfire, in that when i apply throttle or at tick over the engine does not run even and you can hear warbling sound ,now the fcar has gone back to the dealer i bought it from (specialist) and from him went to an official ferrari dealer for what i presume would be full diagnostics.when i got the 355 back i was told they had replaced the plugs (even though i had replaced them myself 1 week previous) and one plug lead and the cannister for i think is vacuum/emission controlled which had rusted away, when i drove it away it was slightly better but the problem still their,i have enquired about changing the leads and now realise why they only changed one (£125. each) i have rang round and found full set for around £300 but still a lot to pay on the chance that it may be the other leads, does anyone think it will cure the problem or is it something else i should be looking at before i purchase the leads and is their a cheaper option lead wise ,your views would be appreciated.steve

www.kingsborne.com $150 for the set. Uses factory Beru connectors on each end. Wire is red, with black connectors, unless you request black wires. I have not tried them yet, but others have and said they work fine.

Well, with the current exchanged rate of the dollar to the pound, the set would only cost you about $75 quid. I don't see why they wouldn't ship them.

One other thing, check the connections to your mass airflow sensors. Make sure they are clean and connected properly, and that there are no broken or frayed wires.

That is the one. A Ferrari tech friend of mine says it is also important to clean and check the connected just below and forward of that one as well. It is a smaller AMP type connector that looks sort of like this one:

Not a bad idea to treat any of the connectors you clean with Stabilant 22...this may prolong the quality (and possibly enhance) the connection a bit longer.

Like Dave said that's the one. Make sure that you look at the wires under the rubber boot, covering the back of the connector. Quite often the problems with these cars is a poor connection or a broken wire.

hi,yes have seen those ,there typical fiat connecters which are a bit fiddley to remove ,i think the best thing to do is clean everyone you see on the motor and check them for corrosion or damage and at the same time lubricate them to avoid damp.cheers m8

thanks ernie,i guess when you have a problem you always expect the worse possible cause, when quite easily its something quite simple to fix, well hopefully it will turn out to be the leads as im sure their the originals and from the heat in engine bay they must be all past their best.i will ring the lead company tommorrow if they dont reply to my email .

Hi Dave, Not to get to far off track here but I have a quick question on that picture of that plug unit. Is there a site out there for a manufacturer that produces replacement connectors like the one in the pic. I checked the Store1 site but it was overwhelming. Could you help me out? Regards, Vern
