    Hi Everyone,

Due to the obvious continuing weather situation and road conditions we have made the proper decision to cancel the party. RT. 9 near us is impassable as part of the road is gone(!). RT 123 near us is still under water at this time. The constant rain has turned the ground into a revisit of 'mud season' in some parts. The rain is expected to continue and a local dam near us is on high alert.

Thanks for your understanding and hope to see you all at next year's Oktoberfest.

Sorry to hear about that. Did you get any water damage or mudslides? Everybody OK?

Chris, thanks for your concern. As we live atop a mountain, we suffered relatively little in the scheme of things. i keep our many coverts VERY clean and that greatly helped of course. Everyone here and in town seems to be fine, we are a VERY hardy bunch here, as you NEED to be. The fcar is at KTR so no worries there.

The lower roads, well, everything is below us, did ok UNTIL you get to Rt 9 which got washed away and slammed/slides. RT 123 was flooded and have not checked to see how it is going. The good news is that the damn is fine and the water is receding so the lower town folk are taking a breath of relief.

Still.. the roads leading to us... use a 4x4... that is IF they are passable at all. Glad i traded the Honda for a Ford truck! (and my gal has a big Jeep Cherokee). Did i mention you NEED to be hardy.

As for the house, it was built like the proverbial brick sh-- house. i have worked on MANY homes in my years and when we look at the core construction of this place it is built to handle... as we get 50+ mph winds every fall and spring. We call up here the 'little White Mountains' and for good reason. FYI: we have out own fresh water spring and sewage so we are fine there as well. i hear parts of Keene are toasted... :(

So all in all we are fine, the town is fine, the roads leading to town are trashed. i needed to do minor fixes to our driveway, but being so water saturated meant it was very pliable and moldable. The driveway is all fixed now by Yours Truly.

Well, sorry to cancel but you guys would have probably ran into hazardous roads and makeshift fixes. Not a good thing and did not want to put anyone's car in hazard's way.

As for NHIS i have heard an updated report the water is receding at a good pace so the COMsports event may be fine on the 22 and 23 :)
