Hi, sorry for the mundane question, but hoping for an easy answer:
I need to replace the disintegrating rubber boot covering the base of the side mirrors on a '88 TR. Do I need to remove the mirror [and how?], or can I just stretch the boot over the mirror and slide it home?
    Thanks

It can be done without removing the mirror, peel back the rubber boot and this will reveal the bolt that secures the mirror to the mounting plate.

If we have a mirror I will post a picture

    Mr. West,
Thank you. Once this is done, I take it that the wiring harness can be uncoupled in order to slip on the new boot?
    Thanks again. :)

Good point - not sure how much of the wiring block will be visable, if worse comes to worse then the mirror will have to be removed by the fixings seen in the picture.

    Mr. West,
I will give you a follow up... providing I can locate a replacement part.
    Thank you.
