Agree completely. I help others when I feel they can use the help and don;t make a big deal out of it. As an example, the last person I hired was hired with the understanding that he was to learn the business, get his license, and go to work for himself.

No matter how hard someone has worked, they should recognize that they've been extraordinarily lucky to be where they are and able to buy any decent car, let alone a Ferrari. Most people in the developed countries have the benefit of starting from a fairly affluent level by global standards, even if they're below median income by local standards. There are 6-7B people in the world and most work hard every day too, but just manage to live in hand-mouth poverty. We're as lucky to be born into affluence and opportunity today as the aristocracy was to be born into their society several hundred years ago.

This might be a bit off the topic here but...
I read a few posts in this thread and I noticed that most of you are kinda generous, thats great guy's.
Back in '91 I went to Los Angeles....and one day one the way to the McDonalds or whatever it was a met a homeless guy (we're not used to homless people here in Norway(apart from Oslo of course))
and this guy kindly asked me for a cigarette, and I gave him the rest of my package(half full) he understood that I wasent an American, and we had this little chit-chat and he told me that he had Danish roots and all that - then he also told me that most American dont care for homeless people, so I felt kinda sorry for him and gave the poor guy 10 or 20 bucks (dont remember) and told him to not waste those money on booze - he said that he was gonna buy some food...(I though, "yeah, right")
So I went off to get something to eat myself - 45 min later I was on the way back to my hotel and I saw the homeless guy again under the tree were I first met him, and he had bought himself food and a COKE for the money I gave him....he was VERY happy, we didnt speak this time, I just walked by him and gave him a smile and he said to me "God bless you son" :)
So homeless people are not always just some "weed" in the big picture!

Even with today's production numbers it's a rare thing to own one.

Some of us, like WILLIAMH and I, let it get a lil' out of hand......LOL!

I think of Ferraris as art & history. Those are 2 things worth preserving. Also all my cars are now "classics" :)

I dont think we need to justofy preserving art & history. Of course there are many small minded petty ignorant people who may deride you, but who cares what they think anyways.

I think it is easy for one who is conscientious and at the same time abundantly blessed to develop a sense of guilt when he sees the disparity between what he has and what someone else doesn't have.
Please keep in mind that we tend to reap what we sow: and thus end results are likely consequences of our life choices and decisions; including sacrifices, made prior to today.
When we give it tends to be out of abundance: but if our motivations are from a genuine love for humanity instead of guilt, albeit the results are the same; I will postulate that we would feel noticeably better at the end of the day. :)

    God bless.
