A friend signed me up today for the Run to the Eagle in Adelaide on Friday November 4. You might remember this remnant from the days when the AGP was here (sob!). It still lives on - without the Grand Prix.

Participants meet at Victoria Park and head to Hahndorf for morning tea and then on to Victor for lunch. Just need a "sporting" car.

Anyone else from Adelaide doing it or interested?

John, I'm not sure. I think it is more of a hangover from the Adelaide Grand Prix days when the event started. When the race went to Melbourne, they decided to keep the Climb going. We meet on the old GP track, climb up the old road to Melbourne, stop at Hahndorf for morning tea and then on to Victor Harbour for lunch.

I was hoping there was a prize for overtaking the greatest number of MGB's in a single passing move into a blind corner or something, but I got something in the post today from the organisers mentioning the speed limit.

Still, it beats working on a Friday.

    mark,
from what Grant P has told me the event is similar to couphing blood, very slow and MGB city.

sorry not to get back to u in europe but my phone went bye bye off of the eiffel tower when i got the bill for lunch in the Jules Verne restaurant, (last time i get chris to book a lunch)anyway after we paid for the 4 of us i got pooh poohed and leaning over the edge the nokia 5140 fell to the ground and exploded in a billion bits and the only salvagable thing off of the gendarmarine SAS type below was a bent sim card, i just wished it had landed on a yanks head, it would have put a different slant to the term hands free, and the gendamarine SAS told me that in the confines of the Eiffel tower there is no liability to anybody if something was to fall and land on someone, hence it is an act of French law that prohibits the legal process, mainly cos so many people have jumped off and landed on some american or thrown a mobile phone off for good measure.

Yikes! As I sat waiting for my girls to get yet another trinket, I wondered what would happen if someone dropped a camera or phone from the tower.

Good to see you back safely anyway. :)

Sounds almost as good as spending 700 euro at Moulin Rouge for 2 and seeing some half-naked Russian chick fall on her arse cause she didn't know the dance moves. Glad I wasn't sitting in the middle cause then I would have also been soaking wet from the snake chick doing a belly flop!

Ah the fun memories of Paris...

Next time you're in Paris, get even with Chris and go to La Tour D'Argent.
Superb food and a wine list as big as a full blown dictionary. Forget your cholesterol and have the trilogy of kings (fois grois) for an entree....you can throw out your viagra cos it's instant stiffy material! Oh, and don't leave home without your amex card...you'll need it to be full as a Maori's nose.
