hehehe, what a thread! And confirms my recent suspicions about BMW drivers'. Of course M3's are great cars as we all know. But I am starting to question what type of people own them. I totally disagree that people buy any car just for ego, but I suppose there is a possibility. Maybe lottery winners. However, a few friends and I decided to go to AutoItalia earlier this year and met at my home. six in Ferrari and five on Ducatti. We all went up in convoy, as only one of us knew the way there (white TR). on the way there and back we endured the most obsurd behaviour! We were all in the outside lane of the A14 cruising at around 90 and had a car weaving in and out of the two slower lanes trying to get alongside us and pass. Then made a very dangerous move and cut into our convoy nearly causing an accident. We could not go any faster as the road was fairly busy. On the whole journey this happened 5 times, and guess what? All cars were BMW's. three of them M3's! I do think certain types buy certain cars, within budget of course. Maybe UFO bought the right car for him.
i honestly cant believe some of the posts on here. Seems some people can't appreciate a good car unless it is a Ferrari. and for those who say 'i'd rather have a Porsche'. I wouldnt swap my M3 for any Porsche as i already have a two seater sports car and i need something more practical. 1) Its quick 2) it handles well 3) it looks good, 4) its understated, 5) it has a decent boot, 6) it gets 4 people in comfortably 7) its a comfortable car to drive long distances, 8) easy to park 9) dont get worried leaving it anywhere 10) Good value, especially at the moment 11) Well built, had two, in four years, one problem sorted out by warranty 12) Execpt tyres (way i drive) and fuel (way i drive) its not an expensive car to run. 13) Roof goes down when its hot 14) Hard top goes on when its winter and crap weather 15) I can go to Homebase, B&Q and get things in the car to take home Not many cars can do the above, RS4, RS6 would be some others. The fact their are loads on the road doesnt bother me at all. Just because their are loads on the road doesnt make it a bad car. There are to33ers who drive BMW M3's in the same way their are to33ers who drive Ferrari's, Volvo's so whats the point in posting stories about people in M3's who have pissed you off. I have plently of stories about people who have pi33ed me off, more often than not in a Porsche or a Ferrari. What UFO said about not needing a Ferrari and about Ego's is total crap, but dont start slagging off a very good car because he went and bought one (allegedly).
im just saying the M3 is a great car. But its not even close to any Ferrariin how it would make you feel. My M3 is my practical, everyday car and for that it is brilliant. But if the weather is great and im going out for a drive, then the 360 is on a completely different planet in terms of driving experience, how you feel driving it and the respect you have for driving a car made with that much passion and history. If you chose an M3 over any Ferrari for driving pleasure, the you made a very silly mistake.
**** me dude, no-one is particularly slagging off an M3, we are slagging off the lying trolling scrote UFO who claims to have brought one. No pic = No credibility
Ah the old BMW Vs. Ferrari debate... I sold my F355 and have an M3 (and a kitchen... which is nice). Most of the points for the M3 have been covered, my personal fav things are: a) you can watch TV in it b) press a button to heat your seats c) fits 5 people These three points alone make it a perfectly good substitute for a lounge and when I get kicked out of the house (can't believe i was *that* drunk) I can live in the car. If I could only have one car though... it would be the F355 everytime. My dream car... always has been, always will be. As I don't own an F355 anymore I don't tend to post here very much as... oh wait... Mh, never mind. Love Cal p.s. Foxy, can I come in now?!
I agree - please don't tarnish all M3 owners with the same brush, otherwise I might be tempted to join you on a track day Rick
Hey Rick, hows things ? Once i sell the 360 i think i'll be going down the route of a CSL to tie me over before i manage to get another 'supercar'.
And I see you've now moved it from other cars owned to previous cars owned. You also must have forgotten to do that when you added the M3 recently. Must have slipped your mind. Funny that. Any pictures from your ownership time?
With the greatest respect in the world, I use mine everyday, park it on the street and am heading for doing 30k a year in. It starts everytime, thegearbox works and it doesn't want to invade poland every time I drive it.
