A few of us took the horses out for a spin today. The weather was actually gloomy in the beginning but eventually cleared up at the end of the drive.

I'll try to setup a drive for the route I was talking about. I think you will all enjoy it. It doesn't involve cyclists and SLOW mini vans.

    There were a total of 5 cars - 1 F430 (stick), 1 CS, 2 360 Coupes (sticks), and an E46 M3.

It was also nice meeting a fellow fchatter (Perfusion) at Alice's.

    Enjoy the pics!

This is my first post at Ferrari chat. I saw you guys at Alice's today. Beautiful cars. I was crusing with 25 highly modified Corvette, and let me tell you, no one was looking at our cars. Joe told me about this forum, so let me introduce myself; my name is John, and I would love to cruise with you guys sometimes. I have a silver C5 Corvette that does 13.009 at 108 mph in a quarter mile, but that will only improve.

There's some pics of today. Sorry, the attachment is not working for me.

John, welcome to fchat! There were some serious Corvettes out there today. You guys were making some serious take offs! Some really high HP cars and nice bikes there this afternoon.

It was nice to see true enthusiasts out there today. Thanks for the pics as well. I think everyone out there knew how to appreciate all the machinery may it be American or Italian.

    John - Welcome.

BTW - when we saw all those 'vettes, we were hoping there was a new Z06 in the group :). Also, I think I've seen the 'vette with the "790 HP" plate before.

Ben from Corvetteforum just got a new Z06 last month, I saw him yesterday, but he didn't make it today. That was disappointing but Brent and his first production Z06 ever made in America came. That car is fast!! He's car is in one of the pictures.

Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. I am a true sports car fan, the Corvettes and the Ferraris are built for the same purpose, so it's difficult not to be a Ferrari fan when you're a Corvette enthusiast.

It's funny how a lot of Fcar owners come from owning an M3.

Keep us posted when you get your 360.

its a pretty logical progression when you think about it.

My biggest fear is coming from reliability shock coming froma beamer though.

Its the only thing that still has my eye on a 997. I dont know if I can handle a car thats tempermental. I dont want to have college flashbacks when I drove a Lancia Beat Coupe...Or should I say owned a Lancia Beta Coupe.

I've seen your other posts and it seems to me you've already made a decision on what car is right for you - the 997.

I too came from an M3 and had the same concerns. My 360 is out of warranty but in the end I still went for it. I did not even consider going for a 997 since I wanted something different and something that had soul. The 997 is a really good car, but it just does not do it for me.

I use my 360 a lot and have put about 1300 miles on it after a month and a half of ownership. I know the maintenance will be costly since all my previous cars had free service and warranty, but the satisfaction I get driving the car is uncomparable.

Personally, another positive effect of owning the car is that I learned to be
smarter with spending my money. Being in my late 20's I go out a lot and spend on things I don't really need. Now I am more careful and actually save more money incase I need it for the car (knock on wood). And in the end if the car never requires any expensive repairs, then I have just saved myself some money I would have spent on stupid stuff. I guess it's insurance in a way...

    Hope this helps.

Never got the ticket, but by Calif. law, he could have put me in jail! I have the whole tape, of course, but I wouldn't want to get him in trouble.
