What is the time interval for timing belt replacement/major on a 355? Search says 3,4, and 5 years recommended. 30K miles is consistant. My manuals are locked away with the car docs so I can't get to them right now to see the schedules. What is the Ferrari factory "by the book" time? Thanks

The manual for a 97 355 lists the camshaft drive belts to be inspected @ 15k miles, replaced @ 30k miles, inspected @ 45k miles, replaced @ 60k miles.

But there are a number of other items that get inspected and/or replaced @ 30k miles as well.

Thanks for checking. The lack of a time boundry would explain the mix of answers. I talked to Tonkin and they said 5 years with some common sense if the car is being raced and so on. It my case, I don't track the car and it's got 4K miles since the last major. Does anybody see a big issue going to 5 years?

Not as long as the car gets driven.
If it is going to sit, then change it out.

The manual recommends having the 355 checked once a year,
even if it does not cover the mileage specified for a service.

As per Ferrari factory service bulletins the time limit was changed from 5 to 3 years in about 2002 or 2003. That recomendation was for all 355,456,550 models. 360 and 575 had the 3 year interval as SOP from date of intro.
