There are so many good ones over there, you should go back sometime. I try and go about every 2 to 3 years. The best bier I ever had over there was brewed by monks about 1 hour out of Frankfurt. I can't for the life of me remember the name.

What part of Germany were you in? I've only been Frankfurt, west to Nurinburg (sp?) and south to Munich, bier capital of Bavaria.

I used to stay in a little mountain village called Beuron, in the Black forest region, (south of Stuttgart)...or if you wish, 6 hours south of Frankfurt by train. Last time I was there was in 1984.

I've been through Stuttgart. I'm sure it's completely different than when you were there. There's so many cool little towns over there. Black forest is cool too. Asbach is brewed in the Black Forest now, not in Rhudesheim on the Rhine where they had started. Their brewery is still there for tours though. Asbach is a German brandy.

I mostly remember the smoked sausages. Bier und bratwurst!! Yah!!! A winning combination.

The little towns in the Black forest region are gorgeous...as are the roads to get there. BTW, Beuron is a village run and owned by Benedictine (Catholic) monks. They mostly farmed, and I remember that we used to get our meat fresh from them.

Great fun indeed. And as a teenager and car lover, I was exposed to cars that I had never seen in North America. And being in Germany, well you can image bucket loads of Benzes, Beemers, VW's, Fiats, Peugeots...

    Bring it ;)

My inadequacies in fulfilling a normal, healthy personal life with no regard to the privacy and security of Internet users will not preclude me from my maniacal road trips leaving shattered wreckage in my wake. When I can tear myself away from Dort-Chat

However, my mental capacity of a knat might slow the post-drive debriefing. And remember, knat is Kant spelled sideways. Zo "What is first given to us is appearance. When combined with consciousness [Bewußtsein], it is called perception [Wahrnehmung]" und gute bier getrinken heute.

Since Kant holds that it is the representation that makes the object possible rather than the object that makes the representation possible, then do beer ads come before the beer? Hmmmmm. Like Erik and I, a paradox.

I can't tell if you've had too much beer, or if you need some. :)

BTW, CDA/RCII, Please go away. And stay away.

    Jim, I need some Tito's.
Kant presented a paradox, as does Motel VI/CDWon'tleave.

Haldol for everyone. And he says he works for Chase Paymentech Solutions. Pray he doesn't have access to anyone's credit info. Wonder if they did an MMPI on him...there's popcorn reading if ever.

Possibly by the end of the year, I may need to come down and get a contract signed.

Next trip I'll expect you to join in on the consumption, then give me a high speed tour of SA. ;)
