I need the help of some experts. The pic was taken at the 20. aniversary of the 250 GTO in Mas du Clos. The nose of the GTO left to "6 PEV" looks quite different from that of the others. I've searched through all my GTO pics but I haven't seen a nose like this in any of them. So does anybody know the serialnumber of this GTO? Martin PS: the pic is out of the official Ferrari book "Ferrari from 1947-1997" (German edition). Image Unavailable, Please Login
s/n 3505GT. At that time it was red, today it is pale green and located in the UK. At the time the picture was taken the car was owned by Mr. Harrison, registration: TCH 100.
wow you know your shlt. any chance you know the serial number of the blue and yellow GTO? it was at cavallino 2004 and resides a few minutes from my house
Do you know why the car has a different nose than the others? Was it changed because of a crash? And why is the car green today? Any historical background or did the owner just wanted a green GTO? Martin
The car was collected new from Maranello at Easter 1962 and driven back to England in time to take part in the Easter Monday meeting at Goodwood (the Equipe Endeavour car s/n 3589GT was collected at the same time and driven back in company), where it was due to be raced by Stirling Moss (but wasn't, due to his career-ending crash in the preceding F1 race). It was painted in the colours of its owners, the British Racing Partnership (aka UDT-Laystall, for their sponsors, a hire-purchase firm) team, pale milky green; and it originally had the 1962-type rad intake which was narrower and more oval than the 1963 version. Can you tell me the Sn for these two 250 GTO 62. [/img] [/img] [/img] and this one. [/img] [/img]
Are you sure? I thought there are three "250 GTOs" with a 4 liter engine and these were called 330 GTOs. They look like the 250s but have a different engine. The 330 LMB look different from the 250 GTOs. pics are 330 GTO s/n 4561SA and 330 LMB s/n 4453SA Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is correct . There are 1962 GTO's with a 4.0 l engine , i think the hump on the engine hood is bigger ?
Are these s/n 3673SA, 3765LM and 4561SA? Or are there some more? And yes I remember that I read somewhere that the hood is bigger on these cars. Does anybody have some pics of 3676SA and 3765LM? 4561SA is the one of Carlo Voegele from Switzerland and was last year in Monterey. Martin
330 GTO was never an official type designation IMO. The two cars (3765LM and 4561SA) were experimental cars, and in fact they weren't even GTOs to begin with. The chassis and engines were related to the 400 Superamerica series, hence the SA suffix in the serialnumbers.
