is this the same guy that bought the zymol starter pack a while ago then split it up and auctioned the bits separately? The current photo seems to jog my memory- seems familiar.

Yeah this guy seems to sell quite a bit of Zymoll on Ebay, does anybody know if he's an authorised dealer or somebody with a cheaper source?

Hi guys these are my items. I am not an authorised Zymol dealer and so am not bound by Zymol's silly prices.

Simon, if you're still hoping to become an authorised Zymol detailer, you need to be a bit more carefull with what you post on here, Zymol uk do look to see what's said on this forum .

for the record Zymol products are unconditionally guaranteed when bought from an official seller, theres nothing wrong with buying one of the kits and splitting them between yourselves, its a good way of getting access to the top waxes but ut to be on the safe side buy them from authorised sellers

What kind of guarantee do you need for a wax?

I see where you are coming from and Zymol are certainly not alone in trying to protect their official outlets, who have probably invested in promoting the brand and stocking product.

I have seen similar attempts by camera and watch manufacturers, who have a fairly cavalier attitude to worldwide guarantees if you happened to buy their product (even from an official dealer) in a real free market such as Singapore or Hong Kong, where prices are far lower than in Europe.

I sometimes wonder whether these guys are selling inferior product to some markets - I think not though!

Several industries have already come under the cosh of the EU competition authorities and I guess we will, in time, see more movement on prices.

Dave, as an authorised Zymol detailer you should also watch what you say. As you are an authorised detailer I find it a bit stupid that you use cheaper none Zymol products to save on time and costs (does kind of defeat the point of being authorised by Zymol). Even more so when I only use Zymol products and charge less.

Yes Zymol products are guaranteed when bought from an official seller. But like someone has already said. Who needs a guarantee on a wax.

I don't know you so don't take this personally mate, but having a pop at Dave's business & prices on this forum won't do you any favours.

I see both sides of the argument regarding buying the wax through non approved / approved channels.

Dave has done a lot of our cars, and as far as I am aware everyone (myslef included) is more that 100% satisfied with his work, and a few of us (my self included again) have retained him for the year to do our top ups.

As per your comments regaring Dave using non Zymol products, he has opted to use a non Zymol leather conditioner as it doesn't leave a shiny finish on the leather which could be quite dangerous if applied to the dashboard as it would refelct on the winscreen, interfering with the drivers view. He actually showed me when he last came to do my car. So a sensible decision rather than a cost cutting one.

WRT prices, looking at your site you are more expensive given that you don't use Royale, and the deal Dave has done for us for intial prep with royale follwed by royale top ups makes you look very expensive by comparsion.

Sorry mate, but thats the way it is.

    Hi Ravi355

I know this is not going to do me any favours, but I am a bit fed up of Dave having a dig at me.

I know many many people on this site are very happy with Dave and having seen many of the comments I know he does a fantastic job.

As for prices mine start at £175 and Dave’s start at £250. I also offer a price promise and a money back guarantee. And on ebay I am even cheaper.

As for Dave using none Zymol products, I did not know about that one and in Dave’s own words:

As for using a degreaser or tar remover, those of you who have seen me at work will know that I use a degreaser before I wash and tar remover before I clay.
I only use these before I start the initial application. The degreaser is used to soften up any dirt/dust and remove any previous waxes etc.
I use the tar remover because if there is a lot on the car it can take bloody hours to remove it and it can contaminate the clay bar quickly , so I tend to use the tar remover first just to prolong the life of the clay bar and save time.
If you have a lot of tar on your car , I recommend you use the Auto glym tar remover as this dissolves it on contact, the other brands available are a complete waste of money and time.

I personally use a mixture of water and "clear auto bathe" when using the clay, this does the trick just as good as the clay lubes available, and a lot cheaper.
The clay bars , whichever brands you use , will lift out any surface contaminents in the paint , the ones that you dont see that dull the paintwork (and turn the clay bar brown). Basically smoother paintwork reflects light more , resulting in a better shine .
Clay bars are designed as an alternative to using the abrasive type waxes and compounds which not only remove the contaminents but also remove a layer of paint or laquer. So in the long run a clay bar's a better option.

These are just what Dave has mentioned. What else does he not use or use??
If it is used as a improvement then thats great, but to save time and costs. I don't think this is a Zymol treatment and is a bit more pick and mix.

I do not offer Royal yet but am looking in to it.

I consider my company to like an independent specialist. Cheaper prices and making sure I over delivery more than an authorised dealer. The same way many car dealers work.

Please see link for why I have responded like this towards Dave.

    Top few lines.

I don't expect this from an authorised detailer and find it a but low.

If I was after an authorised Zymol detailer there would be only one I would choose and that would be miracle detail. You only need to look on his website to see how professional he is.

I alot of people on here really like Dave and this will not have done me any favours. But be what it may.

    Regards Simon

Valid points, depending on how you look at it. But I don't think that just because he uses a non zymol degreaser and lubricates the paint in a slightly different way to clay the car it can be said it not an "official zymol" treatment.

It's admirable to see you offer a price match, and owning a business myslef can appreciate it, but given that anyone is your game has to leave their house at the crack of dawn and spend 8-10 hours working on a car and then drive all the way home, I'd say put your prices up mate. Its hard work and a bloody long day and £250 is a fair price.

As for Miracle Detail I think the guy is a shark. I have heard plenty of bad and no good said about him and whilst I think that £250 is a fair price I do not think that £400 is. Anyone can spend a few quid and have a fancy website, that's not what your business is about from my perspctive - but that's just my opinion.

I can see you and Dave dont see eye to eye and I dont expect you to as you are competitors. But if you each stuck to your forums and serviced the client base on it you'll be fine. If you are prepare to put in the hours you do for what you charge and even offer a price promise, I'd say float around the audi & bmw forums you'l probably get more business there.

    Ravi

Please note I have never said anything about Dave or his company and have only responded when Dave has been trying to discredit my company.

I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to do this Dave and then I think we will get along fine.

Simon, I'm sorry that you feel that i'm trying to disdredit your company, i can assure you that i'm not, I can only think that you've misinterpreted what I was trying to say. Zymol uk do look over these forums and they are looking to a
pprove more detailers in the new year, I was merely offering you some advice, if you remember it was myself that advised you to contact them in the first place to get yourself authorised,
No hard feelings old chap :D

    Hi Dave

I think I may have over reacted if it was just that comment which you had made, but when you also make a comment like this towards me on ebay:

I HAVE NOTICED THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE OFFERING A SIMILAR SERVICE ON EBAY, AT A CHEAPER PRICE,
I DONT DOUBT THAT THEY MAY DO A GOOD JOB BUT THEY ARE NOT AUTHORISED BY ZYMOL TO OFFER THIS SERVICE,
WOULD YOU LET SOMEONE SERVICE YOUR CAR, JUST BECAUSE THEY BOUGHT A BOX OF SPARK PLUGS AND SAID THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING?

I feel you are just trying to have another dig at me.

As regards to being authorised by Zymol, I am more than happy being independent and I am not going to go chasing Zymol down. If Zymol contacted me and said they are interested in making me authorised then I may consider it. If I think it is the right thing to do for my customers and myself.

I would like it if you could remove that and then I think we could get along fine together.

And may be one day we could sort this out on the track or may be a go kart track. With the loser buying the drinks or maybe offer someone on F chat a half price treatment picked from a hat??

    What do ya think??

Guys sorry for bringing any more tension to the site.

My last post was all in good will and I did try putting some smiles on it with copy and paste but they didn't come out.:)
