You mean cojones, by the way you aren't the only one to mention about the scary ride after 130 or so in the 355, I used to take my 328 to 140mph every day and past 150mph almost weekly and the car was sure footed. How odd about the 355! Theres something not right with your car.
Hard to tell.... The speedo once read about 170 MPH, so that was probably about 66MPH in reality. Ferrari speedos are notoriously optomistic....
My car is one of the best sorted 355's you could wish for. In 2 years of ownership I have had zero issues with it. Well I probably need to get my wheels realigned, I have not done this in 2 years so that may help but the top speed run's I have very little interest in. The Fcar experience is so much more than top speed runs. Any fool can plant his foot on a straightaway to "she what she'll do"...It something we all do once ...but driving regularly at those speeds on our crap public roads is madness and can only end badly.
I didn't try to put your car down, I'm a little confused with your answer. Anyway I posted this about my 328 experience because the 355 is a lot more of a car and since this is the case then I cannot see how could it be possible to be scare or to experience a scary ride in a well sorted out 355. I have had exotics since I was in high school and driving fast is a passion, I did those speeds when the highway was empty or with enough room, at no time at all I was risking other people out on the road. No matter what public roads are not a close circuit so I don't street race anyone. I do road course driving so I know the true meaning of driving unlike fools that only care about 1/4mile crap or top speed, thats why I don't drive a faster car than my new Gallardo and for the track events some may laugh but I drive a '98 eclipse race car, no longer I want to risk an exotic.
176 mph (283km/h) on the speedo of my 348. The german border with no speedlimit is 40 miles from my house. We love the autobahn... you can speed up for miles in a row. Everybody goes to the right in time, they're all used to it..
195MPH (320kmh) on the dashboard of my 360 yesterday on the Autobahn. My TomTom GPS was showing 297kmh. I don't know which one is right, maybe the truth is in between.
Nice to see some high speed lovers coming out in more recent posts!!! I've been to governor cutoff in my BMW 330CI - somewhere around 138mph - a bunch of times, no problem, and 145mph in a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - this on the other hand, is not recommended ...Ferraris on the other hand are are made for high speeds, so you owners with love of speed and cojones rock!!
