Not suprising really. From what you can see in the photo, the stretch of road doesn't look strenuous at all. The only way you could lose control there in a car like the Enzo (assuming you had some idea of what you were doing) is to be going at tremendous speed.

Still, you have to wonder how the police came up with the exact figure of 256kmph...

Its sad, but I can't help but wonder how people who can afford a million dollar car can't afford the talent or the intelligence required to use it. Cars like the Enzo, Viper, Veyron should be reserved for people who have taken months of rigorous training. Just because you can write a check for a few million dollars shouldn't give you the car.

My condolences to his/her family and friends, hopefully its a lesson to us all.

    Darth's right.

Fair enough... Lucky he only killed himself IMO, and not an innocent person(s) coming the other way. He paid the price, but he should not have been so reckless on a public road. Actions have consequences. Keep it for on the track.

If Dale Earnhardt can hit a wall at a resonable speed and die with little bodily decapitation , I believe in the end fate will take its course. However, If a car is designed to go 200 mph, It should be designed to hold together as NASCARS do.All this Monocoque/High resin Polymer/ Carbon Kevlar stuff doesnt cut it above 150 mph, Then they should go back to the drawing board. An aluminum space tube chassis would not have come apart like that at speed.
Enzo's and such should have Roll and body cages as standard Equiptment.

Sorry disintegration should not be an option in terrestrial travel.

Well, frankly, anything would bend like hell at such speeds.

But for the cage etc, i fully agree. I never understood why those are not integrated (RuF like) in the shell on such cars.
    Seems so logical to me...

Apparently he leaves behind a wife and two children. :(

If he really was doing 256kmh upon impact then that right-hander just before the crash scene must have been taken at an incredible speed.

Exactly, some of these pics of crashed 355s,360s, and Enzos remind of the Corvair that would disintegrate upon impact as well, Ralph Nader would have a field day writing another book on Ferraris crash statistics with all the fires and they way they fall to pieces when hit.
