I've heard to many post's about saying they haven't done anything to there 355, as far as repairs.
And the Vette is just like my Viper. Sloppy.
I will take my 355, I'll pay for track time, and you can take your Z06, 2006, and I will run circles......

    ZO6....not even close.
I've never driven a 06 ZO6, but I have driven plenty of 05 C6's and 04 ZO6's, as well as a plethera of 355's. I'd take the ZO6, without a doubt. You want "Bling Effect", get the ZO6 in yellow. 355's are brutal cars.

Now, that said, I'd take the crapiest 360 out there over a brand new ZO6.

    That's my .2...and I'm out!
    :)

I think it's a fact. I have never owned one but I have driven a bunch and I just think they're brutal.....not a really nice ride, lots of mechanical issues, kinda fast but nothing compared to a 06 ZO6....I don't know...kinda brutal. I mean, if someone was going to hand me one of those cars, i'd take the ZO6. I love Ferraris, WAY more than corvettes but the new ZO6 is freaking redonculous. Why, what do you think?

Well I respectfully think you are wrong, obviously, as I own a 355. I have no desire to own a corvette period.

If its absolute HP numbers that float your boat then yes the corvette is for you but there are many other intangeables that the Fcar owner cherishes like beauty, sound, handling, racing heritage and exclusitivity that one will never get in a corvette.
I mean no disrespect to Corvette owners they are fine cars in their own right. But we are talking two completely different sets of buyers for both these marques IMO.

I really can't think of any car I would take over a 355B besides a 550. Yea, the Zo6 is an amazing machine, but I would rather have the 'slower' 355. Why? I could write a paper on that one.

honestly, i would never drive an american car in my life, period. the 'bang for your buck' concept is irrelevant to me [concerning an american car]. i'd take a 355b straight up.

You will indeed be running in circles, but not around the Z06

Agreed...before my current 550, I had a 355B. The car I traded in to get that was a 996TTx50. Obviously, if performance was my only concern, I would never have ditched the Pcar...but there is much more to driving pleasure (IMHO)than performance numbers...besides, how much of the performance differential can you really use on the street. For a track car, all bets are off, the new Z06 is an unbeatable performance bargain, and alot cheaper to repair/writeoff if things go wonky....but for a street car, Id take a 355 over the vet, any day. For me, the pleasures associated with the sound, feel, look (and yes, to some degree, the exclusivity) of the 355 cannot be matched by ANY vet,...even one with such impressive performance credentials as the new C6 Z06. Of course, "beauty" is always in the eye/mind of the beholder, so whatever floats your boat goes...

The Z06 kills the 355 in every single area, except a few factors like style, feel, sound and a bunch of less statistical things.

Truly, my blood runs Rosso Corsa. But the new Corvette has made great strides in virtually all areas, never mind the ZO6. Styling, performance, ergonomics, etc.... I have just come to the conclusion through my personal experiences with the 355 (and only the 355) that the build quality and mechanical issues would drive me to drink. I don't know, maybe I'm insane....but 500HP, holy poop-stains Batman!

But of course, I'd take the 360 over both. That car is just plain sexy!

wat i mean is that the Vette will outperform it in every single area, while costing less, but that definately does not mean i would choose it over a red 355B

Yeah, if you live your life a quarter mile at a time!! :p

I'm not saying the vette is JUST a striaght line rocket, because its far more than that. But simply quoting quarter mile times and top speed show nothing about how a car handles. So, my point? Quoting C&D's drag times dont exactly "say enough." :D

Run circles in fright back to your home? Yeah. Clearly you haven't driven both PROPERLY (if at all) if you're remotley suggesting that the F355 smacks the 2006 Z06 for lap times.

    355. Red/Tan or Black/Black Coupe. 6-speed. For a number of reasons:

    1. It would be my first Ferrari.

    2. It is more than fast enough for me. I wouldn't anticipate ever taking it to the track and pretending to race anyone with my $70k toy. Achieving my personal best lap time maybe, but only one person will have the fastest car at a track day, chances are it will never be me.

    3. The sound. Oohhh the sound of the 355, especially with a Tubi.

    4. In five or ten years the value of the 355 will most likely be more than the Z06. (see #6)

    5. Both are useless in the winter, so will be parked in the garage. Gazing out from the house, which would you rather look at for a few months each year?

    6. The Z06 is no doubt an amazing performer. However, in a decade when the Z06 is eclipsed by tomorrow's technology, the ThreeFiveFive will still be aging gracefully.
