Ok guys & gals. This weather was just too gorgeous to pass up. I went from NJ 287N to 87E to Palisades to exit16 to 7-lakes drive, to Perkins Tower to the Bear Mountain Inn down the palisades to 45 to 59 to Los Banditos for lunch on 59 in SpringValley to WWoC to see what eye candy they had on hand. 9:00am to 1:00pm. GREAT Drive. See pics. DO THIS RUN! of course I have lots more shots of wonderful winding roads barren of traffic. I saw 2 troopers on the palisades and 2 troopers pulled over two motorcyclists right next to perkin's drive in the park. Yes, the valentine saved me each time. But it seems the bears weren't so hungry today as they were letting cars slip by a bit past the speed limit. (you'd think those people, seeing an empty road ahead and the Ferrari that just passed them tootling along in the slow lane, would get the idea & slow down themselves. Nope.) If you need a map, I have both the car map & the detailed topo I picked up at the rangers today. Best moment: At the Perkins memorial tower, some crazy guy came running up to my car & thrust a Revel model in box at me. "I just wanted my son to see this is a REAL Ferrari like the model we are building". The model was for a 348, but the son & mom where all smiles their Dad even approached this stranger in a 308. Naturally, I invited son & dad to sit in the car so Mom could snap a bunch of pictures. They were truly delighted. Does a heart good.
Looks like you had a lot of fun Clyde. Glad to hear about it. One question for you, how did you manage all of this with the party last night? I was exhausted!
Wow. Great pics Clyde. I love the "Ferrari Behind Brush" shot. It's sad we do not have that kind of foliage out west... but on the plus side: No 5 months of cold, rain, ice and snow.
Ok, we have a new quest. Everybody collect 5 leaves from assorted trees. Make sure they are different colors. We'll send them out to Emil along with some Paste to glue to a Palm tree so he doesn't get home-sick. Emil, if you could bottle some warm air & sun & send it East? We'll call it an even exchange
Clyde, Great pictures. Perfect day to be out there. BTW, what kind of camera do you have? The pics are really beautiful, colors came out great. Steve p.s. I'm in the office working. Now that I see the pics, I might have to cut out and go fire up the Mondi and go for a ride.
Camera was a Cannon Powershot A300....pretty darn cheap so I can keep it in the car for such opportunities.
