I know very, very little about these beautiful cars other than the fact that I wanted a Lamborghini since the day I could breathe. But since winter funds are (already) running low and I got the 360 last week I am stuck within a price range. So that’s helps narrow it down.

If it were YOU, which car, why and how much lower could you get away with offering? Thanks in advance and wish me luck... it's going to be an interesting week explaining this to the misses.

Life's tough but someone has to make a choice between these beautiful cars :)

    2004 Lamborghini Gallardo E-Gear Coupe - $152,995
    Silver/Black: 989 miles.
    - Taken its main depreciation hit.
    - Fresh design.
    - Easy to live with on a day-to-day basis (thanks Audi), is your 360 man? If so, the e-gear might be a nice change.
-It may lack some of the charm the diablos have but it also lacks their potential service headaches
-As far as negotiation goes.. well thats really up to you and the dealer, can't help you out there.. but any idea how long the car has been listed?

I would go with the Lambo Diablo VT Roadster because it is the best looking, can be considered a true super-exotic and i also like the option of going topless. If i were making an offer depending on the history and condition i would probably start by offering in the neighborhood of 155,000

If that Titanium Diablo Roadster is the one that was at Prestige Imports in N.Miami FL I believe it has been sold unless they just recently got it back.

Divide the Lambo world into two: The G car is far more real world, almost capable of daily driving. I disagree that you've seen full depreciation on either of those, though. E gear is a personal choice.
As to either Diablo, the 6.0 is the better car in theory, the roadsters are very sexy. I wouldn't buy either without a full service history and PPI by someone who knows these cars. Since neither is a super low mileage car (not a bad thing either, it means they haven't been moldering in a garage), I'd bet you could negotiate some real savings on either of them. As to buying in contrast to whatever the 360 is (eg, E gear if 6 speed in the F car, roadster if 360 is spider), it's a nice thought, but you may find that the Lambo is a keeper. So, I'd buy the Lambo on its own merits, without regard to what F car is sitting in your driveway today. That, of course, could change, right?

(PS If you were going to buy 2 exotics in one week's time, why didn't you work with the same dealer to achieve a bulk discount?)

That looks like the orange 6.0 that's been on Don L. Leasing's website for the last 18 months. That would be my choice, but not so sure about the dealer's rep...

If you don't have something topless...then that's the direction I'd go.
It's actually the direction I did go.I traded a 993TT in for a Gallardo and have a 993 cabriolet for those perfect weather days.

Persoanlly (this is biased) I would jump on that 6.0 VT as if it were Pamela Anderson (prior to the hep). ;)

IMHO, nothing beats an orange on creme 6.0. Simply nothing. It is so extravagant, retains that I-will-eat-your-face-off look and carries some modern design elements vs. the VT RDSTR. I would stay way from Gallardos, unless I wanted a reliable, liveable exotic car. The Diablo's are like titanic brutes (to drive) and they will put a smile on your face every time. The Gallardo, I see it as an easy supercar to enjoy. I guess it depends on your priorities, ie. do you place pure exoticness above easy-to-get-along-with, or vice versa? If it's option a, then the Diablo is your toy. Otheriwse get the Gallardo.

Yeah that one has been on Dupont Registry for ages! Don't know why it hasn't moved. Something sounds fishy....

Pretty sure your not going to decide based upon a bunch of strangers opinions, but I vote for the roadster hands down. The last pure Gandini designed Italian Exotic.

I would add that the 99 Diablo SV coupe of which only about 25 were imported into this country and bears the signiture of Marcello Ghandini also is a terrific car. Lighter weight with 2 wheel drive and 530HP. Fast!

Once again… amazing replies. I was very sure before I wrote that the Diablo was just too much car. How crazy is it to admit that? Across the board, from exotic car looks to exotic car maintenance it sure seems the Diablo fits the title.

Speaking of depreciation, how bad is the picture 3 years out for either car taking into consideration that I am going to drive the car constantly (except for winters). While it’s not always my first choice in making purchase decisions

Prestige Imports is correct. Must have recently moved it?

I got the 360 at Miller Motor Cars and they are only Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Maserati and Rolls-Royce.

Shocking... car that gorgeous not sold for 18 months? That is a problem Houston.

Thank you as you have made the inevitable answer even more black and white, once I decide. I just have yet to find out if the 360 is going to be easy-to-get-along-with...

Why wouldn’t I? I know where to find you :)

As it stands I am going to continue the search as both Diablo’s under consideration may have been already ruled out. With a cap of $160-165k it may take a little longer to locate the right vehicle but I think the decision has been made. For today anyway :)

FWIW I would stay away from either Prestige or Don L. Both have tainted reputations. If you do find a car at either one, PM me and I'll go do a "once over on it" for you and also take some pix.

One drawback is that Prestige will not allow you to do a PPI. Regardless of who the mechanic or towing company is, nothing moves off the lot. They told me my mechanic would have to do PPI on their facility and would not allow use of lift or garage equipment.... many FChatter's have had a bad exerience... do a search.

Don L - mostly high mileage trashed cars. Many were bought back from lease, including commercial leasing companies and exotic car rental companies. Terrible service and more of a car broker than a real dealer.

Autosport USA is company you may want to consider. They also are in FL and are owned by Autohouse MBZ. They have 17 Lambo's on their lot.
www.autosportusa.com - ask for David, the sales manager and mention my name :)

Check out www.kipshewardmotorsports.com he has several Lambo's on his showroom floor.....he just sold my 328GTS and him and his staff are great. The cars he has are all top of the line examples and you can trust purchasing a car from him sight unseen. He will deliver and does alot of business across the US.

I would reccomend you develop a relationship with MC I in St. Louis. They stock used Lambos that are consistently the nicest on the planet, and will help you unload that 360 after the blush wears off. (In fact, they have a 600 mile 288 GTO and a few 430's in stock, although they are not, to my knowledge, an authorized Ferrari dealer). There are alot of chewed on Lambos floating around- looking for a deal on price is even more likely to turn up ones with Dear Rappers (TM) or other questionable issues.
I bought my 6.0 from them, and it was and is impeccable. Ask anybody on this or the NY board here- one of the nicest ever. I bought it sight unseen, but subject to PPI. And if you tend to go through cars, they are good people to know....

I will for sure.... But the link goes to a Parts Dealer in NJ? And your offer is very, very generous! What have you heard about Domani Motors?

Looking now... oh, very nice yellow '94 Diablo VT with 12.5K miles, probably a very good price. Just worried about the age of the car. Any comments about a Lambo 11 years old or the 94 models in general?

“Dead Rappers”… what a great synopsis for a movie. Have a website? Googled them but nothing came up.

    Some good points whart.

Have a test drive of both a diablo and g and let us know how it goes. You'll probably find that the diablo is really a care you have to respect... ;)

Just curious, is the Gallardo faster than a 6.0 diablo around the ring? or similar tricks? Surely the Diablo would out-accelerate it (0-100 in 3.9 vs 4.1-4v2 for the G car yeah?) but I'm fairly certain the G car would out-corner it hands down.

Sorry, I was in a hurry and typed 'Dear Rappers' instead of 'Dead Rappers.' No website devoted to it that I am aware of, it was my reference to a Lambo that's been on and off the market for quite a while- seems like the man got shot to def, and at the funeral parlor, they laid him out in his Lambo. Since then, some dealers have not advertised the history of the car, for obvious reasons. There are many discussions of the car on this board, ranging from questions about the latest in embalming techniques (did any of his 'stuff' possibly leak into the interior whilst on display) to the courage necessary to buy the car. The most recent thread shows some of the denizens here visiting the car, and 'getting down' with the vehicle. See http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80954

Sounds good. try the 360 (it's 6-speed I presume?); see how it fits your personality. Just curious, why did you rule out the Diablos? Was it strictly the cap, or the fact that they are too brutal, or are the listings too fishy (esp. the Don L. 6.0)?

I saw your letter to Euro Motor Sport. I am going to F^cK with them so bad… I have a lot of time on my hands. That is so wrong to do to someone just because they think you have money. In the past year we have had nightmares along the same lines. Our homebuilders have been sticking it to us since we moved in back in May. And they’re like “Sue us, you have the money”. So we did!

First call is to Euro in the a.m. I have nothing but time… I wonder how far I can take it before I let them know they BLEW a sale?
