Ok guys, what would be a realistic but amazing number of Ferraris to have at this years toys for tots event. The FDC is on board and I believe the FOC and FCA are going to be as well. I want to make Ferrari the showcase.....so does anybody know the largest amount of Ferraris together at any one time in SOCAl, (exludling the Mont. Historics Norcal)? What do you all think is possible? I am thinking 200-250...does this sound right? I want to corral all the F-cars at a location and then pull them in all at once and save the premier parking for the fcars. And, lastly, do you all think we could coordinate the parking by year....thoughts? Lastly, thanks for all of the support. The event is coming together in a great fashion.

I'm there, now only 199 to go. You could bring them in by year, color or model, but it might take a little extra coordination.

So do the rest of us who don't own Ferrari's have to park on the street while the Ferrari's all drive in?
Last time I checked, this is a charity event for all exotic car owners. If you would like to bring in all the different types of cars, such as Ferrari's, the Lambos, then Porsche's, etc and have them all park together by makes, that would be great. But to single out one type of car for this car event as "special" I think smacks of elitism. And I think you are going to piss off more than a few people as well.

Remember, the point is to have as many people participate and donate as many toys as possible for Toys for Tots.

you are absoutely correct, i am trying to have all cars coordinated and setting parking aside for each, but when you have one highlighted make, it helps to bring in a lot of other people. Trust me, i am the most non-dicriminating person around, infact, i drive an audi and i want to get a 69 camaro......

but, i should have over 100 porsches, 100 bmw, 100 audi, i have no idea how many muscle cars, but i would say 100-200, etc. This event is 100% about the kids and the motorsport community. There is no cost to attend, just bring a toy. Further, there are no booths selling anything, and in the bylaws of the non-profit corp, it clearly states absolutley no salaries ever! I have been getting calls from companies trying to attach their name on this event and give me large sums of money for it...and i will not do that. I want to keep this as "pure" as possible. About the kids, the car community, and the marines as it is their foundation.

As for next year, there will be a differnt make highlighted. Kind of stole the idea from another great event. So, it is not about any one type of car.....i apologize for any confusion...I am trying to make this a lasting event and kind of making it up as i go along.

Oh yeah, and nobody can park on the street...as of yet. I am trying to get the city to allow parking but it will be a stretch.

This year spotlight Ferrari, next year Porsche....i havent gotten to the year after that yet. There are approx 1200 parking spaces available at this location, so i should be able to accomodate everyone. Everyone counts. Bottom line.

Lastly, i am always open to input. The goal is the toys for the kids and to have a great show for EVERYONE to enjoy. If any of you have any ideas on how to make it more successful, please share your ideas with me.

I've been to the last event, and Dustin puts on a great event for a great cause.

Lets not argue over logistics, thats up to Dustin, and he's a honest guy, so he has no intentions of being a make whore ... i drive a Audi and VW, and his events always bring a diversity of vehicles.

I will be bringing all the www.SoCalEuro.com peeps that I can, and most of them dont drive "exotic" cars, most of us can only afford the normal VW/Audi/BMW/Benz ;)

Dustin - It was an amazing event last year. I think if you have the FDC confirmed plus all the local guys in your area you will have more than enough Ferraris in attendance. If you also include the other Ferrari clubs/groups you could potentially end up with too many Ferraris and not enough space. I would imagine that 30 to 40 Ferraris would be a strong showing and probably half that number will be from the FDC by itself. Just my two cents.

The FCA event in June, Mikey's run, draws about 150 cars. I think that is one of the best attended events in Socal.

Well, the FDC is always incredibly supportive. I am hoping that everyone is calling all of their friends. I would like to see 200-300 ferraris. i think it is possible. if we do, i will have Jon wear a skirt and a tube top to the event......come on Jon, is it a bet...

Next time you're at the Village Coffee Roaster (Euro Sunday) just look at the wall. You'll find 3 pictures of me in a skirt. As a matter of fact, next time you're there go ahead and take the pictures off the wall, please.
