It's time to polish the 328 and the prospect of doing it by hand again is not filling me with joy. I'd like to get a high quality random orbital polisher to do it this time. Searching the archives show the Yanks are very big on the Porter Cable 7424 polisher:

I tracked down the distributor in Oz but they don't supply the model or anything like it.

Anyone using something similar they can recommend?
    Thanks.

In Australia we use 240V rather than 110V, I did look into importing one a few months ago and using a dirty big transformer but came across a technical problem preventing that, I've forgotten what it was now......

Scud, I had some deep scratches put into the paintwork of another car a while back by a "professional" haven't been game to use anyone else since.
What does everyone else do for waxing/polishing???

Polish by hand - its hard work but the results are telling, especially if you are going to Concour. Meguiars and Zymol have some good products (no affiliation). Finishing off with Carnauba wax (as pure as possible) is a must - the finish and shine will surprise you.

    there are "professionals" & professionals

I purchased a Jag that had possibly the worst paint i have ever seen.

The guy I used, buffed it 3 times. [I should actually say caressed it 3 times.]
The photos don't do this guy justice......

Thanks Q, that's sparked my interest, I'd be over the moon with a result like that. I have a black car with awful paintwork, maybe I could try someone out on that before letting them loose on the F car. Guess I'll pick up the yellow pages and start calling :)
    Thanks again guys.
