I wish I had a dad like you, I begged to kart all the time :(
Karting is officially a cool thing for girls to do now: The Chicago Tribune had a feature on it (the cover story in their Women News section) a couple weeks ago, talking about all the girls who race at one of the kart tracks in the suburbs. (The same track where the Ferrari Owners' Club Midwest had their kart outing back in the spring, as a matter of fact.) I sent a copy of the article to my sister, warning her that this was a glimpse of the future I had in mind for my toddler neice. Hey, the girl's already a gearhead: she can't say many words, but she can go "vroom vroom"!
Lesson 2 this morning. Great fun. My daughter is getting better, but it's still pretty tough to get a 5 year old to understand the concept of the proper race line. Nonetheless, she did pretty well. She had a ton of fun, and can't wait to go again. Our next lesson is scheduled for Dec 3rd. After that, she gets her "license". Then daddy is going to have to dish out some cash for a kart...
