Actually, the phrase, "Happy Holidays" was trademarked by Sears-Roebuck. You'll have to pay them to use it now.
Saw some Christmas stuff in some stores before Halloween. Otherwise, it's beginning to look a little bit like Christmas on Novemeber 1.
The retail year is now divided into 3 cateogories: Aug-Dec - Christmas Shopping Season Jan-June - "After Christmas Sale" Shopping Season July - "Christmas in July" Shopping Season

My father's birthday is in the beginning of September, so I card shop late August. Over the past five years, the card store has had out the Christmas ornaments display. It seems Hallmark allows the stores to put out last year's ornaments by Aug 15th. I saw various hooks which had dates posted for the arrival of certain ornaments, I guess so I could mark my calender for the release of the new Clifford ornament? I will admit that last year I was unable to locate a Thomas the tank Engine ornament my son requested for Christmas so I had to buy it on eBay for triple the price.
Sneaking? I went to a mall last Sunday, and it was all-out Christmas already. All the lights were up, even Santa's village was ready to go. Lots of Christmas ads on TV this past week, too.

I was in Costco a little over a month ago and even then they had Santa Claus statues on display. Waaaaaaaaaaay to early. I'm already sick of Christmas. I'm just waiting for the radio stations to start the Christmas songs the day after Thanksgiving.
Remember guys, it's P.C. to not use the 'term' Christmas, as it may offend people. Oh wait, GO **** YOURSELF YOU POLITICALLY CORRECT ****S!!! I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas! Use this term as often as possible during the holidays. I'm actually anticipating the moment someone says to me it offends them. Oh how I can't wait. MWHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

In Toronto Ontario last year, the city council put a huge "Christmas" tree outside city hall. People were affended by them calling it a "Christmas" tree, so the debate got all heated and they ended up calling it the "Holiday" Tree
