Hoping to go down to the MPH'05 for a couple of days the second weekend in November. Would take the 348 Spider if I knew that secure parking was available. Looking at hotels / up market Guest House accomodation within 3 to 4 mile radius. Yep I know all accomodation is listed on the NEC site however I value the comments of other F Chatters who can recommend certain establishments. NEC listings give me no indication of carpark security. If not the wifes Landcruiser will get a good airing.

All the hotels near the NEC that i've stayed in have decent safe parking, and as Steve says, there's always plenty of flash cars in the carpark anyway!:)

Gents (and maybe a few lady readers )

Thanks for your comments. I did try yesterday the main hotels in the NEC vicinity and would you believe they are fully booked for all their doubles with only a few single rooms left!!! I did also ask about the security of car parks and most said there was some form of locking barrier with an associated parking charge.

If you go into the NEC website and then select hotels and accomodation in the area you will find all accomodation listed and distance from the NEC.

Most of the other guest houses and out of the way hotels are nearly all fully booked for that weekend however managed to find a guest house off the beaten track but less than a half a mile away!! Took their last room. Parking area out of sight and well off the "c" road leading up to it. Not as expensive as the NEC hotels but by no means cheap. They will even shuttle you to and fro the NEC during your period of stay foc. If anyone is interested in the future, and it turns out to be A1, (As I think it will be) I will add to this thread after visiting the establishment.

If anyone is interested regarding a top notch Guest house within spitting distance of the NEC (5 mins) and with safe parking I can thoroughly recommend the "Establisment" where I left my F car this last weekend when visiting the NEC and the NIA.

The owners will ferry you to and fro not just to the NEC but to the local eating "houses" as well with transport all included in the accomodation cost.

The breakfast can only be described gigantic making mincemeat out of Steves renowned photo!!! Hearty is just an understatement. Enough to eat to keep you going all day. (That's if you can move off the chair after breakfast)

£60 a night for a double room with a super comfortable bed. Rooms are in Chalets in the garden of the Guesthouse. All rooms with "cool" modern furniture and central heating is available 24 hrs. (Not like some of these places, including some hotels, where it can go off between midnight and 6 o'clock!)

PM me if you require further details.
