It takes a strong stomach to see what happens behind the scenes, doesn't it?

At his funeral parlor, undertaker Bonasera is asked to repay the earlier favor of justice by offering his friendship and "service" to Corleone: "I want you to use all your powers and all your skills. I don't want his mother to see him this way. Look how they massacred my boy." Bonasera has the impossible task of cosmetically restoring and covering up Sonny's massacred, bullet-riddled corpse and mangled, ravaged face so that his mother can look at him (and not see what death has done to him).

You know, there's a word that's commonly used in regard to the person who sees another's loved ones going to ashes or dust to it's relatively satisfactory conclusion.

With condolences, that word is undertaker.

But, overgeneralized and as such, misused as undertaker may be - when one speaks of seeing a huge undertaking brought to it's conclusion - it's akin to seeing a phoenix rising.

In either case, the undertaker should celebrate the life lived and make the body look just lovely, while as close to natural as possible.

Thankfully, these undertakers have iron stomachs akin to your iron will and can have been entrusted to bring each of these bodies to their desired states, where they may be restless in peace.

Nah, Who-man, seeing the veneer peeled off the bitsas made me realize there's an analogy laying somewhere around the shop.

When I see Bart's spontaneous philosophical prose, I visualize Bart - goatee, beret and all - playing bongos while women in black leotards dance. In short, when in Beatsville, do as the Beatniks do. *Snaps fingers*

Or, as 'Napolis said in a Bart-ly way once:

    "Real men don't wear Bra's.

    My P4 after winning Daytona"

Ya gotta give Bart his props - check out his profile pic

Oh, but I do. Bart is my hero. I just imagine that big black Maranello zooming around the LA freeways and for some reason I think of the Doors.

    Jim,

I actually kind of like the distressed look of both cars. Pop the glass back in and go for a ride. They would make great urban assault vehicles in Manhattan.

    regards,

It's really amazing what happens to these cars over the years, how they get smoothed up. Originally the bodies were very thin and probably looked a lot more rumpled than many of them do today. We've used over 5 gallons of stripper on 0854 (0858's) spyder tail and removed 20 lbs of bondo! We're going to hammer out the body and use almost no bondo at all. We're going to do very little to 0854's original coupe tail and doors saving as much original paint as possible. When we're done IMO they will look really cool.

After removing the paint and bondo from 0854's nose we found the original nose inlet that had been welded up which we're going to open back up. This nose is 412P with a P3 upper nose inlet bisquit. We also found traces of original paint and old race numbers.

Fantastic. Is it poss to guess from what you can now see how many times the cars have been repainted over the years?
