    Look
I said from the start that ferrari has the WOW factor.
I was just trying to make the point that it might be lacking a little power and
that the prices are too high compared to other models.
Surely you guys have a few complaints about ferrari.
Make no mistake, I'm not comparing my cobra to an f430 but I don't think that it should
be 3 times the price of a viper

The 2 points you make right there are off base to start with.

If you had any knowledge of them you might understand those complaints but you come here trashing them and exposing how little you know about them and life in general.

If you really want to know about the cars, be polite, dont make apples and oranges comparisons, ask nice questions and listen.

I really don't think that is your mission however so I would encourage you to just go away.

A Timex Ironman is quite a bit less than a Cartier (and keeps better time), what has that got to do with starving children in China?

A viper is all plastic, and is not hand built like a ferrari. Once again apples and oranges. The only complaint I have regarding ferraris is I dont own enough of them. As for the WOW factor, a viper is all WOW where are you going with this?? Its a monster, could never mistaken that thing for a mustang.

If prices are really that high and they are not worth the price compare dto a viper then why my dear freind are the 430s and every model before that sold for yrs in advance, and the vipers have power sales every xmas. Wasnt the viper part of the Dodge cash back recently ? I believe it was. Give it up with this.

Steve(always the politician), "Saint rick" my mother would love you, but I gotta feeling there are some people ahead of me in that line....but I know I will beat out most of the priests in my parish....."ouch".....

Yup. A basic quartz watch will keep better time than a basic mechanical watch that is a certified chronometer, with a cost comparison of $10 vs $3K. The best quartz with pulse, barometer, compass, calculator, astronomic, etc functions can do everything a mechanical watch can do and will do things the most complicated mechanical watch could never do, with a cost comparison of $300 vs $300K. If you don't see the value in a mechanical watch, get the quartz and be happy. You got great value.

But going on to a watch board and telling them that your $300 Casio is better than a $300K Patek will only get you laughed off the board. Even the Casio execs would rather have a Patek (aside from the PR issues).

zouzou42, all this is to say - you don't get it and you don't know that you don't get it.

I feel that comparing a modified domestic to a stock exotic is an unfair comparison. I think that your statement about beating "tons of Ferraris on the highway" is goofy. I also disagree that the 348 was a superior vehicle for its time.

I do however agree that, at least with the 360, the car could have used a bit more torque.

I spent an hour today riding shotgun with my friend in his 328. The car is a perfect example. It is completely overrun by many modern cars, including many sports sedans (my own S4 for example). And I would sell them all for the 328. No comparison.

And there were entire families getting out of cars and vans to stare. A 5 series bimmer passed and all 4 occupants - driver included - craned their heads 120 degrees as they passed to check it out. Depending on the model, it may have been faster than the 328 (gee, I didn't care to look and see). There is no substitute - even if it does have a horsey on it - and if you don't get it, well you just don't get it.

I have a 14 year old at home. He cannot understand the difference between horsepower and overall performance. The concepts of power to weight ratio, the importance of brakes and sophisticed suspension are foreign to him. I am puzzled because he comes to the track with me fairly often and watches Porsches and Ferraris lap more quickly than Vipers and Cobras. Zouzou seems to have the same mental block.

The Viper is nothing more than a glorified kit car with a truck engine.

People who come on the board saying that they are going to buy something (especially one of these)....."in cash"...."next year".....are usually struggling to balance the demands of their paper route with the community service time they are serving for public masturbation.

As you are blinded by your anti-Ferrari bias?

Dude, it's not as if a Ferrari (like any other car) doesn't have its short comings...of course it does! The reason your getting slammed is because you chose to come here to a FERRARI CHAT BOARD and wank about your Mustang being able to beat a 355 (in a straight line on the highway, no less).
Based on this LIMITED experience with a 10 YEAR OLD F-CAR, and your EXTENSIVE INTERNET BROWSING, you felt the need to come in here and question the relative value of Ferraris to obvious Ferrari enthusiasts.

What do these actions allow me to discern about you?

First, since your EXPERIENCE is limited to one highway race and some internet browsing, I don't even think you could honestly call your opinion qualified, or even relevant. Your conclusions are therefore just as worthless.

Second, your choice to come to F chat and spout your ignorant theorys, (rather than a Mustang or Viper chat board that might show some interest) indicates to me that you like to stir the pot. A sure sign of your troll-like nature.

Please feel free to sign up with your local Mustang club...I'm sure you boys can regal eachother with stories of how you beat a 10 year old car on the highway. As for us, we can do without comments from an obvious troll, even one such as yourself with a big HP Ford sh!tcan.
