    The F1 is a manual with a computer controlled clutch and gear engagement

    The Corvette is an automatic with shifter controls on the wheel

    Huge difference.

    The F1 is a true manual transmission with an electro-hydraulically activated clutch. Other trannies similar to this are BMW's SMG, Lambo E-gear, and Audi's DSG (which has dual clutches).

    The Corvette's transmission is a conventional torque-converter equipped automatic with the ability to change gears via the paddles.

    Also, the torque converter, do you gain any speed? Or can you shift faster manually?
