Are there any Fcars in India? Exoticspotter lists one (pic is included), but are there any actually owned there and driven? Here's the link: http://exoticspotter.com/list.php?page=8&batch=bt00052/bt00052_101090.jpg&model=4&make=5&location=all Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've noted from an article some time ago that there are the following F-cars in India: 1 x 275GTB/4 2 x 246GT 3 x 308GTB 1 x 308GTS 3 x 348tb 1 x 348ts 1 x 348GTS 1 x 348 Spider 4 x 355 Berlinetta 1 x 355 Spider 2 x 360 Modena 2 x 360 Spider
Well....I see in the picture, there is road, bus, eletric light,..... There must be somebody putting them there and if somebody putting them there, they must be paid...... a great deal of cash. India is one of the largest economy country in Asia. They used to say that about China. Look at China today... 20 years from now, China will change the face of the earth........ ladies and gentlemen, the giant has awaken.......!!!!!!!!
More than that. Also Next year you will see the new F430s arriving at the shores. Unfortunately not many places to drive.
Great, thats what the Japanese Admiral said right after attacking Pearl Harbor a century w the Chinese leading the world will be wierd, scarey, & brutal
How so? Is it going to be weird because Chinese is not a race with white skin and blue eyes? Too used to having westerners running the world? How many times have you been to China before? I vaguely remember some of your old posts and you seem to be real stuck in the 'red army' era when its long gone mate.
I think the Chinese would do better than the US, at least they won't be going around bombing countries for no reason; Talking about scary-ness and brutality... you americans are funny creatures.
good point, and i'm confident enough that the Chinese government won't go around bombing other country's embassy since i'm sure they use 'updated maps', among other things...
What about the taiwan issue.. Chian very much wants to re-unify with taiwan. If taiwanese president chen shui bian makes any move for independance china will attack. They see this as a breakaway of taiwan. However although China is bigger, has a greater population - larger economy military etc, it cannot invade taiwan. Taiwan is the biggest investor in China, (trade in yr2000 was worth 124 billion to chinese) And the US Will backup Taiwan if China attacks taiwan, hence the situation will stay the same for now, Taiwan will not make any moves for independance, China will not attack as it does not want to get into a conflict with the US.. Then again, China didnt start wars like iraq, or vietnam.. grr stupid international politics
back to thread i know of a 360 coupe in madras (chennai) mechanic has to be flowed in from singapore. it cost 400k USD after "taxes" and if anybody cares.. there is a 360 spyder in sri lanka as well owened by a cricket super start. (used to have a 355)
This article was published in 2002 so I guess there were more imported to India between then and now. By the way, the cost of a 360 over here in Thailand was also US$400,000 for a new one out of the showroom.
Yeah, i read about those indian Ferraris. In egypt, a couple of guys have Porsches/Ferraris. Taxes are absurd, and they need to fly the cars to italy (or dubai) to get them serviced.
I was in Bombay for a spell in '00 and I've seen two F355s at one of the night spots. The cars, just like the better looking girls...only come out at night!!! In MY, the same costs applies but at least ( in TH and SG too ) we have the luxury of an authorised service centre and some great independents too. Thank heavens for that!!
and if anybody cares.. there is a 360 spyder in sri lanka as well owened by a cricket super start. (used to have a 355)[/QUOTE] Yup, belongs to Arivinda Da Silva, used to live in my block of flats.
I believe i read the same article. In it, it also mentions that the petrol has to be imported to cause regular gas from Indian pumps is too low in octane. I saw an Indian movie once, and a Ferrari was featured in it. Bollywood producers are very wealthy, so it was probably one of theres. An friend of mine has a SL 55 there. One of two i believe. About cars being flown to be serviced. That is true. In Turkey, the local service has a one of the limited number of Italian head mechanics present (as stated in a 2001 Aktuel interview with the man himself). Fcars from Iran Iraq Syria and Lebanon have been seen in its garages. Recently, Uday Hussains ex F40 was in for a go over. However, it didnt leave the country. The "new" owner was some shady character and he "vanished" recently. So the car is stuck in a legal loophole. Service wants its money, no one to claim the car (henceforth pay the hefty bill). So its in customs impound. I saw it my self
I wondered about that. The places I've been (New Delhi, Agra, Mumbai) in India would not be fun to drive an F-car. Bad roads, bad traffic on the better roads, scary traffic behavior (a few nice cars, but mostly trashed cars, trucks, bicyclists, animals, all weaving amongst each other with no one observing lane markings, etc).
I cant imagine the amount of "evil eye" you'd get either, driving $400,000, among people who live on less than a dollar a day.....
My nephew lives in New Dehli and owns a 348ts.He took me for a ride once. Not many place's to drive Ferrari's in India but with new roads being laid the situation should improve.
There are many more than this...I know, as a friend of mine, who is a leading Ferrari specialist, is often flown out to India to service and repair them.
hey,was wondering if you know any owners of F in Indi in this forum. Would be visiting bangalore and chennai in a month, Thanks
great thread, i remember looking at those same pics and wondering to myself how many are there really over there. After talking to a friend of mine who has visited Bombay many times he told me that it's mostly A list actors who own these cars. Pretty reliable source told him there are a few lambos also.
wow guys, thanks for all the replies, now I have another question. Any pictures of the Fcars or Lambos in India? I heard from my cousin, that last year Sachin Tendlikar (sp?) an awesome cricket player owns a Red 575. Don't know if it's true to.
