I got engaged...

Well it took only slightly longer than six years to ask, so I guess I had enough time to think about it. A wedding is still a ways off. It's not going to be until at least the summer of 2007.

 

Congrats, I remember when I got engaged, It was in front of the beligio in vegas. It was so sweet.

Now I am paying for that dam trip for the rest of my life, If you see me out on the street just shoot me! My life is over anyway

My only advice put her on a tight budget for the wedding.

I've spoken to her about the budget. She's an only child and her parents claim that they will cover the majority of the wedding expenses. I don't know if that's still typical today, but if it's true here, Im not complaining.

 

Damn, I wish this was my case! My fiance isn't an only child. Her parents aren't wealthy by any stetch, and are preparing for retirement in the next few years! They are only chipping in for a handfull....about 5 grand. That doesn't go far when planning a wedding! It is so damn expensive to plan a wedding, and VERY TOUGH to say no to something when your finace LOVES IT, regardsless of the cost! It's their day and they want it perfect! They've been dreaming of this day since they could see. We're geting married in June! We're excited, but I'm excited to get the planning over with at the same time! I get stressed out too much over planning the wedding, and sometimes it overshadows the enjoyment! Wish it wasn't the case, but.....
7 months to go! We got engaged a year ago this weekend. Anyway....Congrats on the engagement, and best wishes to you and your future bride!

We are going to wait until after the New Year before we start thinking about it. I know we should probably start right away, but I'm working slightly crazy hours right now, and a nice month off before the rush is nice.

I really admire you for making it that far. I almost got engaged once, but we broke the relationship off. I got so upset that I took all of the money I had been hording to buy her wedding ring & I bought a 911 Carrera.

Needless to say, I did not grieve long.

Congragulations both of you. I got hitched a few months back and my situation is far from typical. First of all the engagememnt ring. I didn't buy one. My GF does not care for it but I bought her a watch instead. She loves it 100x more than any ring. Now for the wedding, she is indiferent to the whole thing. A little party with maybe 30-40 people and no fancy stuff. Lastly she told me not to sell the Ferrari to pay for a house. She knows I like it and said that it is not worth giving that up for a slightly bigger house or shorter mortgage. But that's just me and freedom is not for everyone.

 

dont do it !!!! tell her you were high on crack......... if you dont call it off, the only advice i can give is, kill yourself now...
