I have a question regarding the Ferrari F430. Apparently it comes with Bi-Xenon lights which means the same assembly for both the low and high beams. Most cars with this set-up have a dedicated high beam halogen bulbs that are used solely for flashing them since this is detrimental to xenon lights. How does the F430 handle this?

  2. Same way, all Bi-xenon equipped cars have a halogen High Beam to flash.

I will say one thing for sure about 430 lights. EVERYONE flashes me thinking i have high beams on. I then flash them back, they must really go blind then. LOL

Did someone just say that it's bad to have high beams on in these cars and that it hurts the lights? HUH

Maybe they just want to give you 'props'...
It's not bad to operate the HID high beam lights, but it does take alot of voltage to turn them on, and may decrease their lifespan to get flicked on and off frequently. Analogous to how stop&go driving is bad for the powertrain

On my 430 the high beams seem to be the low beams tilted up, You can see the assembly move if someone operates the high beam while you watch. The low beams seem to be aimed too high as I get flashed a lot by people thinking I am running high beams when I am not. Great lights though!

Just a little tidbit, in most of Europe, if your car has HID lights, the vehicle has to have either a load leveling suspension, or auto adjusting lights. Simply because they are sooo bright.

I am only going down 1 inch as i was told this is the most you should go and be able to correct camber, etc... Any more than that, and it's incorrectable.
