Has anyone replaced the accelerator cable assembly in a 308 carbed car? Need to know where the cable goes and how to get to it. i.e. need to remove the firewall or undercarrage compartments? I read a thread a while back which talked about removing some compartments but can't find again. I found a new assembly through trutland for $80. Thanks

docweed, I am not sure if the 308 is exactly like the 246 which I have. The 246 has a bare cable which threads through two pully's and up to the engine. Eighty dollars for one probably is not a bad price.

FYI your 246 must be different 'cause the 308 has a sheath and no pulleys...I think I haven't taken it out yet. I just looked at a blowup. I'd like to get some more info before I start tearing things apart. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

There's an access panel under the car under the pedal area. I believe it's held on by a couple of screws. Allow you to get to the foward end.
    Cheers, Tom
