The press has gone a bit OTT on the coverage. It is a quiet news day/week. He has been given a lot of praise for offering to be an organ donor - probably the least that he could have done. Their have been some very touching tributes paid to him but I think it would have been better all round if the there had been less coverage - many home truths would have been aired less.
I agree that he went OTT on the drink but it is indeed a very difficult addiction to shift, I know of people who suffer and others who have lost the battle. He was a top class footballer who lived to excess and sadly paid the ultimate price.
