    The new ones look nice. But the old ones are some of the best looking wheels ever, especially those deep rear rims.

    I'm not sure what you're getting at?

    I post pictures to share with everyone what I enjoy - my cars, and the things I do with them. Beyond that, what you get out of the pictures is entirely your own concern.
    As I have stated earlier in this and other threads, the wheels, the paint colors, the tire choices and on and on and on, are really my decisions and the last thing I am going to be concerned with is the reaction of others to my choices.

    I really appreciate the great majority of comments which are positive and I honestly disregard the negatives. I just felt that your post was really too vague to know where it fell on the positive/negative divide.

    The car & wheels look great.

    Polished wheels are exactly what most of the F1 cars use, so therefore you seem to be emulating the top of the food chain - automotively speaking.

    Additionally, polishing an aluminum wheel adds strength. And, of course a bare aluminum surface is the lightest option as well. So... Light & strong. I can see why F1 racing would implement such an upgrade.

    Seems to me that these polished wheels of yours are the perfect F40 upgrade.

    Keep the old stockers for the next guy, as for us, we can drive with the polished wheels.

    i think they look good, and i normally prefer flat black speedlines on the f40

    very nice..the one with 19" greys, i think speedline??, at crystal cove are nice as well.

    It looks great! It really modernizes the car. With the first few pictures you posted I wasn't really sure which set I liked more but with the second set including that amazing side shot I clearly prefer the HRE 547R.

    In the top pic of the car in better light those wheels look good, although the fronts look like there is too little sidewall. are those the same diameter as the originals?

    The total height of the tire and wheel from top to bottom is very close to the height of the originals, therefore the sidewall will be narrower because the wheel is an 18" versus the original at 17".

    The 1 " extra in the wheel means the sidewall on each side (top & bottom) is approximately 1/2" narrower.

    What it translates to is that the profile of the tire, expressed as a percentage of the width is 5% less. The OEM fronts had a 40 profile. The new tires have a 35. The rears have gone from a 35 to a 30.
    That means the front profile is 35% of 245 cm (245/30-18) and the rears are 30% of 335 cm (335/30-18).

    Those look great!

    and for those that were against powder coating wheels, I have powder coat on my wheels and they're holding up great against rock chips etc... I also powder coated my calipers. powder coating is very tough finish.
