Help me, my friends! I used to have two Viagra-rising windows on my 84 Euro 308. Now the driver's side gets stuck about 3/4 the way up. It seems to run off the front track and jam. Can go back down, but not all the way up.

Does anywone have a photo or diagram of how the window works once you get the inner panel off? I know it's going to be a jungle in there, so if anyone has the map or experience, please help me out.

George, not sure if this is going to help or not since your window speed is good, but below are some old threads that may have some tips and photos of the door innards.

This post by Verell in this old thread (about fixing slow windows) describes what you'll find when you get the door panel off.

This thread below is also very detailed and has some photos of the door panel gizmos:

ClydeM had a great post on his window fix "slow windows no more" back in June of 2004. Sorry I don't have the link.

Also, on the old board, Mike Tarrant posted a how-to on the "slow window fix".

    good luck!

I have been looking for some good pictures and info on how the window should be adjusted in the track, and how the cable secures to the window. It looks like the window track can be shimmed in the front to adjust the angle of the overall window(like how it can slant inward or outward), but I cannot find specs on how to do this properly. Also, I can see a pinch washer setup at the lower rear of the window to secure the cable, but I have no idea how the cable secures to the front of the window down below – any thoughts? My window jumped the track and cable. Taking off the door panel from the good window, it looks like the cable just rests around the front window stop and does not secure there. Also, do you secure the cable when the motor is completely wound down, or do you wind it down all the way, then up a bit, then secure the cable. Lots of questions, but I cannot find a source on how to secure the cable to the window and adjust the proper slant on the window by shimming its track. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I cant tell from any pics on how to secure the front lower window to the cable. appears that window slant adjustment can affect how far the window goes up before it stops, like in the first post.

Thanks, Verrel for those hard to find links. I will look into them tonight. In the meantime, the second writer above, seems to need further help and I am wondering if he is just a day or two ahead of me on the same path.
