i believe this thread was posted before, if so, sorry... my 1999, 360 just failed emissions test but no codes were avalable per service shop, they said they didnt have ferrari software. i know there was a problem with the 360 and passing emissions, so what to do ??? when i bought the car 3 weeks ago, they dealer guaranteed emissions and state inspection so im not really worried about it, but i do need inspection [ legally ] also they failed me for no front plate, anyone know where to buy front brackets for the 360 ?? thanks guys !!!!!
just found my answer, i talked to justin at wide world of cars in Ny, he said that there is a recall for the ovd 2 conector and also timing variators, this should do the trick. they are picking up the car this saterday, i will let you all know of the out come.
OBD2 (On Board Diagnostics v.2) Cam variators..oh oh....do a search on that, good about the recall though. 4I2fly went 'round and 'round on that for awhile...nice new ride!
It's the right color and everything. http://www.maxtool.com/cgi-bin/dbsearch.exe?mdb=/tools.mdb,tbl=IC_ITEMS,template=/hmpg/Gen_enlarge.htm,DBCOMP=ABS,ReturnMax=1,DB_ITEM=D21002
John, I would not drive your car until the variators are done. Depending on what RPM you are at when they let go..you are looking at anywhere from $13K - 18K repair. Park the car !!!!!
what exactly do the variatore do ???? ferrari dealer said timing variators, i have no idea what they do...
