Late 70's and the 80's was the BOM! I got more ass than a toilet seat at the Super Bowl during those years!

For me, the 80's was all about music:

    B-52s
    Go-Gos
    XTC
    Modern English
    Bangles
    Madness
    Psychedelic Furs
... ... :) so many fond memories of my college days!

For me the 80's were wild college parties, beer blasts on campus before they were stopped. Riding in a friends cars: Delorean, 66 396 Vette that I didn't have the 6000 to buy, AAR Cuda, a few Transams, and that mint 1980 Z28 I took with a friend to Daytona. The black Countach on my fraternity room wall. I got a pair of parachute pants, they must have gone out in 1985, I got mine then & poof it was out of style. Bar hopping. Oh all the cheap muscle cars. Of course Devo, and Yello with song Oh Yeah used in Ferris Bueller's Day Off - such a classic. Yep, good times.

Friday the 13th films!! Paramount was cranking one out every summer, and they always made money. It got to be comical the ways to "kill" Jason Voorhees, only to bring him back in the next one. Guess you could include Freddy Krueger as well, but he came along later.
    Caddyshack - Classic movie
No Man's Land (w/Charlie Sheen) - Sheen is a car thief who only steals Porsches. Good car movie!!
    The Shining (1980)
    Airplane (1980)

    RIDES OF THE 80's
    Porsche 944
    Ford Mustang SVO
    Merkur XR4Ti
    Acura line from Honda
    Maserati biturbo

T V shows - The Incredible Hulk w/ Bill Bixby & Lou Ferigno
    Magnum PI
    Miami Vice
    Hardcastle & McCormick (Cool car!)

Music - One night in Bangkok by Murry Head
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Pink Floyd - The Wall (1979)
Berlin - Take my breath away
John Parr - Man in motion (St. Elmos fire theme)

    The 80's were a unique bubbly time :) !!!

I heard something about 'Top Gun' once...apparently in numerous tests it was the one movie if shown in an electronics/home theater department, people were most likely to sit down and watch. Maybe it is just Alaska, but I have seen that movie on display in numerous places (Sears, Best Buy, Fred Meyers, local independants). I have also seen it in a number of furniture stores that sell home theater seating. The gentleman that told me this also said the only movie that was more likely to get people to stop was the first 'Star Wars' but at the time it wasn't on DVD.

There is your useless fact for the day...

Haha...I paid a pretty penny to acquire a TB-303, a TR-909, a TR-808 and a Jupiter 6 in the late 90's (still have the 808 and the Jupiter 6). I also still own a Juno 60 and Alpha Juno 1. I had a DX7 and a mint blue SH-101 but sold them, too. I still own a Yamaha DX9. I have an old Simmons drum pad lying around somewhere, too.

How come no one mentions L.A. Law? Damn, that show made me want to go to law school so bad...I wanted to be like Arnie. Also, anyone remember NBC Thursdays? The Cosby Show, A Different World, Cheers, Night Court and LA Law. I had a full head of hair then.

My first computer was an Apple II GS with the "Woz" signature, a 300 baud modem and a subscription to NewsNet. I added a 20 meg SCSI external hard drive to that thing for like $500. In college I graduated to a Mac Plus and later an SE.

    7) The first sport bikes (ninja 900...) 1986...sigh

Yes, I remember. I had a 1984 Kawasaki Ninja. It was the very first bike to ever be called Ninja. I believe It was the first Kawasaki to ever have 4V per cyl. And it was their first water cooled street bike. Very fast for its time.
