1989. The Colani Ferrari Lotec Testa d'Oro. In 1991, with Mike Strasburg at the wheel, the car hit a world record for vehicles with catalytic converters when tested on Salt Lake, Utah. With a flying start, it achieved a top speed of 351 km/h.
Quite possibly the oddest and least known Ferrari of all time, this car has intreagued me for ages.

I was wondering what people's thoughts are on this car.

Also, if anyone has any other pictures of this car, please post them, and if anyone has seen it in the flesh, please share your experiences.

Funny that, it appears that the top speed somehow got mixed up, as it's different on the poster.

Did you end up with some of his stuff? I'd love to see some of his garden tools work, all the pictures I have are of Furniture and Transportation.

Nope, the company that I worked for back then was way too conservative for his outrageous designs.

Uhm... his site also states 351 contrary to the poster.... and it boosted 800 HP which might, at least in part, explain those top speeds.

"This" is 2 cars there :). I've never seen the first car before... The second car (I believe) is the same car I posted, but in an outfit which allowed it to reach it record breaking top speed.

A bit odd that two official items (poster/website) have two different top speeds. 800 HP, however, I could imagine would've gotten it to 387 kp/h though :p.

No these are just pics found on several websites. I know, the Colani Museum is located in Karlsruhe - Germany. Maybe I will make a trip someday.
Colani made lots of things, from furnitures to water bottles, from trucks to gliders...
Some of his cars are interesting and futuristic but some others are ugly as hell like the blue neoclassic Rolls-Royce.
