just wondering....you wouldnt happen to have pics of you taking OFF and replacing the headlights on the f50 would you?....just wondering because it would be awesome to finally see the disassembly and assembly of the F50 headlights!

Ferrarifixer did the job; but I have no idea if there are any detailed photo's of the process. There was one floating about with one black headlight and one yellow- that looked a little "odd". That is probably the only photo. Phil?
In any case, there isn't much to the job- 4 screws per headlight as I recall.

Hi 360C. Beautiful car by the way. How does that work with the lights. Are both sets factory? Or did you update the factory black ones with a yellow aftermarket set or vise-versa.

Looks great with the yellow by the way!

    Cheers,

    Vasco

Thanks. Yes both sets are the genuine factory items. I came across a second set at a dealer in England soon after I bought the car. The headlights are sealed units, so they have to be very carefully split, painted and then resealed. I prefer the yellow; but have the flexibility to change back to the original black, should the need occur.
There are a lot of rare parts out there if you keep your eyes open and know where to look. I just purchased a NOS soft top roof and capote bag for the F50 from ebay.

I'm stuck.. I think the black lights look better on the F50 but my g/f thinks that the OE blinkers are "pretty".

I can only hope that I run into a willing seller that has both when the time permits.

I think the odds of any other F50 having 2 sets would be pretty close to zip.
Even more so if it's a Giallo F50, as I believe that there are only 33 or so Giallo's in the whole production run.

Forgive me if I've missed something, but aren't all F50s not street legal in Australia?

So, how do you get around this 360C?

28 Day permit? well its such an awesome car that who really cares if it's illegal anyway, the constabulary would love it too!!:D
where theres a will there's a way, im sure 360C would have something thought up, so he can drive it on the street

You saw the F40, F50, 288GTO and XJ220 at the Classic Adelaide.

Yep, but I didn't see the paperwork being filled out by the entrants which allowed the cars to be driven on public roads during the event (and I forgot to ask them about it).

In terms of registering a car for use on public roads, I imagine there would be a distinction between a special event such as the Classic Adelaide and normal use.

The rules are different in every single state. In WA I had an event permit that detailed the route the car would be used on for the 28 days. All perfectly legal and I did about 1000km's in the week. 1000km's is a LONG time in an F50 over a 7 day period I can assure you. I haven't used it since!

Yeah no kidding. I actually once purchased an original tool pouch from a wrecked F50. Then I resold it. Kinda cool find indeed. You just never know.

360C your F50 is stunning!! I have a thing for yellow cars as you can tell by my avatar :D Since there are only 2 yellow F50s i know of in the USA I have yet to see one. Ive seen 9 F50s and they were all red so I am patiently waiting to see a yellow one. Anyways back on topic....Ive riden in 2 F50s and both experiences were mind blowing!! I have video of the ride in the modified F50 if anyone is interested. (video quality isnt that good though)

You could put the video up on Rapidshare.de assuming that it is less than 50MB.

    Is that the koenig F50?!

Btw, i'm pretty sure (going off the top of my head, not looking at my serial list) that there are more than 2 yellow F50's in the US

Im pretty sure it is a Koenig F50 :) It happened all so quick i didnt learn that much about the car. The owner also owns an Enzo and CGT. Does anyone know his name?? He lives in Oregon.

Edit- Here is the video...sorry for the quality. I will redo the video later this weekend and host it again.

Thanks. We don't even have 9 F50's in the whole of Australia. I think the latest count is about 6, and most of them are here in Melbourne. They are all red except for mine.
My car will soon have a full Tubi system from the headers right on back. That ought to make it more interesting ;)

    Depends who's asking

I know him as well as most here in the NW chapter. I can tell you one thing, besides the CGT, F-50, Enzo, F-40 , CS, 959, Ford GT he has three times more cars. Hell of a nice guy who gave hot laps at P.I.R. on track day, all day in the Enzo, to anyone who wanted them.
