Michael Stead has just sold out all his dealerships to the United Auto Group!

So if you thought there was price fixing before, the situation has just become worse!

There are no more independents in any field it seems.

Even Yardbirds has sold out to Home Depot!

    Where will it end?

It appears from what Stead Porsche told me it was just the M-B dealership Stead sold and that was to Fletcher-Jones.

So now Fletcher owns nearly 1/2 the M-B dealers in the US!

It's definitely the Home Depot syndrome!

BTW, the Cayman at Steads is very nice! Looks much better in person, and have now decided to special order one for my wife. This makes the upcoming 360 purchase easier!

For a Benz I think you were better off going to Pleasanton anyway so maybe the change will be for the better. Besides it is almost as though if you bought a car in Co Co County it was from Stead.

Orchard Supply was bought out a couple of years ago by Sears. Now it is just a Sears satellite store, might as well just change the sign.

Just think, soon we can go to the appliance store, the hardware store, the car store, the clothes store. Just think of how convienent it will be. I'm sure it will have no impact on prices.

pretty sad,,,,this homogenization....you can go to costco, buy spinach, tires, gas, dvd player, and then maybe a casket (it was on sale last time I went).

    One stop shopping and all.

You don't need the embalming fluid from Costco. They have been "stiffing " everyone for a while, so that's well covered.

I think it might be a "grave" mistake to purchase a casket from them, however!

BTW, Rifledriver is correct about M-B of Pleasanton. They have been great to me. Would never do business with W.C. M-B!

+1 I bought my E-500 from Pleasanton. They were awesome and had great prices. I went to Stead and they were the most snooty and unattentive group I have encountered, and their prices stunk.

Ironically enough, I brought my car in for warranty service to Stead and their service department was pretty good, go figure.
