Have any of you ever told your boss and co workers what you really thought abut them and left, never to return again? If so did it make you feel good, better ect? I am thinking of doing it, I am tired of not doing anything when something happens to me that is wrong, I think it’s time for a stand and vent some frustration towards these people, and let them know they suck a$$.

I have always have done the "right thing" and never had any sort of response, besides I was doing these people a favor coming to work for them and it has been nothing but lies from day one, and this really bothers me. I will never need these people again in my life and they will need me and the circle of friends I have in the near future, so it is not about buring any bridges becasue they will need me, not the other way around. Any way I just want to know if anyone has done this or not, I know it is not the best way to end things, but in a strange way it does feel like the thing to do.

What kind of an organization is it? The reason I am asking is if you are in sales, and you can close deals, go in there, get your check and tell them to go fuuck themselves! You'll always get a gig!

If not, then walk around the block and cool off.

It's not sales or any sort of business, it is a department within a University. And when I leave my position with them I will never return to that line of work.

    Real life bridge burning story.

A friend of mine was a ruthless sales guy. On several occasions he used what some might consider shaky tactics to take business away from a competing company.

The company that he worked for got sold, TO THAT COMPETITOR.

He walked into his boss's office for his annual review and was greeted by his new boss, a former sales guy from the other company that he had bad mouthed on several occasions while on sales calls.

Needless to say, he got fired on the spot, and was told to clean out his desk and go away, right then.

NOW, I TOLD YOU THAT PART OF THE STORY SO I COULD TELL THIS PART...

After getting fired, he returned to his office, which had glass walls on three sides. He started to clean out his desk, in which he had stored a very realistic looking pellet gun that he had from many years back. He was slamming his desk drawers as he emptied them, and slammed the fake gun down on his desk, too.

About five minutes later, his desk phone rang, he answered it and was told, "Bart, (not his real name) this is the Podunk (not the real town, either) Police, place your hands on your desk, we're coming in."

He turned around and saw three Podunk police, hands on weapons, coming in the door. He was wrestled to the ground, handcuffed, and dragged away. It seems a co-worker saw the plastic gun, assumed it was real, and called the police. Bart is about 6'4" and about 250 lbs, so it took some wrestling. He was charged with making terroristic threats, resisting arrest, and some other odds and ends.

Now, you'd think that was bad enough. To top it off, his wife, a lawyer, was in her partnership interview when he got busted. He called her, and she had to beg out of the interview to spring her husband from the pokey.

Eventually, Bart plead guilty to one count of resisting arrest, got some community service, and eventually got a new job. But believe me, this story follows him wherever he goes to this day.

His wife did not get the partnership, either, although she did land on her feet and eventually became a partner, at another firm.

So, the moral of the story is, don't be a turd and don't burn bridges, or you might end up in jail.

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY, WITHOUT ANY FLUFFING TO MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING.

    DM

sound advice. if you are a valuable asset to the company (as i am sure you are), it's their loss. take the high road. you will be a better man, as a result.

my other advice is not to act on impulse that you might regret later. take the weekend to regain composure, recollect your thoughts. you might gain a different perspective on monday morning.

    best luck to you.

    Well ,that too.

He had worked in the repo biz while in college, and his boss, as a parting gift, gave hime the pellet gun as a joke. He'd simply taken it with him from job to job and not really put much thought to it in the box of junk that he filled each time he cleaned out his desk. This was maybe ten years ago before we all got paranoid and turned everything anyone says or does into a life threatining situation.

Still dumb, but not really the cause of his trouble in this case, just an additional catalyst.

In the end, telling them what you think of them won't do a thing, though it might be cathartic for you. The question is, is a few moments of satisfaction worth the possible damage?

One time I quit a job where I sent a long letter to the CEO explaining why the company was going down the tubes (with a good chunk of the blame assigned to him). Nothing happened at the company, it continued down the path it was on. About 12 months later it was sold to save it from bankruptcy and the old CEO was "let go". I had started a consulting group by then and some of my old colleagues brought me back as a consultant, so it doesn't always have to work out badly. But it was clear that no body would ever hire us as long as the old CEO was there.

You all have good advice, but I have done the correct thing all my life an I think I would feel much better about myself if I would let these jerk offs know what I really think & feel. I am not looking for a big blow-out, but just saying that I think the way you continue to lie to people and just use them for your personal benefit is pure BS and I hope you rot in He!!. I know that I could never justify doing this but I do think it would be fun.

Oh I don't know, I've worked at places that encouraged us to bring guns. One of them we even set up a range. Gotta keep the employees happy.

Then there was the time I worked in Berzerkeley and we all carried during times of public unrest. It looked great everybody gets to work, opens their coat and takes it off, opens their tool box, limbers up their favorite shooting iron and put it in the tool box. Ready for another day at work!

Don't burn bridges. You never know.

Then by that measure a workplace who encouraged such a thing wouldn't also have you jailed for doing so. :)

All considered, any employer who allowed such a thing (outside of the obvious law enforcement agency or gun store) should have their collective heads checked. An off-property excursion to the range? Cool. Employees cleaning firearms at their desk? Absolutely retarded.. the first guy to get shot (accident or not) will own the company.
