I am worried that this car will disappoint me like the 612 did. I think the 575 is beautiful car and the replacement should be just as sexy. I hope they change some of the lines before it is finalized.

I think it will be a lot smaller than the picture posted just below. You figure there's a lot of room to hide stuff under the 612 panels.

When 365 BB was introduced, purists cried that the car was an abomination,in '84 a Testarossa was called a "kitsch" and in '96 the new 550 was called a step backward and unexciting.
The new 600 will be also loved and hated, nothing new really....

I think by the time you strip away the camo, the car will look quite good. Actually the 612 which I thought was quite hideous, now looks better and better.

I liked it better when it was introduced as a Z06.

WTF is up with design. It's like everyone is designing for the Asian market (BMW last 5 years).

I ordered one with a substantial deposit in July 2002. I've been told I will get one on the first shipment. Now I just have to wait and see what it looks like.

You guys are brave and faithful. A deposit on a V8 is not much of a risk, but on a V12 ...
I've just seen an '04 612 with delivery miles auctionned for 153K$. I've little doubt that the 600 will be potent and handle beautifully, but if design is challenging, 2nd hand market will be thin.
To me, V12s are the ideal 2nd hand play, let the money-is-no-object folks take the first chunk of depreciation, and enjoy the rest of the slide.

153 - where? I'll buy one at that price! BTW - I still have to get that data to you, but alas I am not there right now. It's very much hit-or-miss, have to beat the ground a bit.

V12s are definetly an ideal 2nd hand move, but I figure in the first year I can't get hurt much on the Maranello-line (2+2s are always hit harder), and I'd never end up keeping a first year car anyways. Buy one, enjoy it a bit, recycle and get into a later one.

Supposedly Brad is not taking money and there is no list. Unofficially, who knows? I have my theory but can't post it here or I'll never see a car.

I was told their allocation is going to be 2 to 4 cars a year and I might see one in 2009.

My guess is Brad has a list in his head of who he will get a car to first, then he prioritizes down the line, and the guys who need to put a deposit down I'll call "3rd tier" at which point it's whoever put up some money. But I wouldn't hold when you put up money as the indicator of when you'll get a car with them.

    Hello to all,

I normally enjoy lurking in the background enjoying the witty banter and hearing about the Ferrari world in the Bay area but felt compelled to participate today. It is a happy problem for us all that Ferrari continues to wow the world with increasingly better cars both technologically as well as stylistically while only incrementally increasing production numbers for the U.S. market each year. The results are obvious, too many enthusiasts as well as too few cars means prices more commodity like than car business like. When considering the process and the people it becomes obvious that the only way to have consideration is to have a relationship with a dealer or suffer the aftermarket prices that are motivated by dealer and client alike. More specific to your thread, 600 or whatever they call the replacement car is coming sooner than later, we are being bombarded by people both end user as well as speculators that are pushing to be considered in purchasing a car as quickly as possible. In addition to the start of the process, we have people that have deposits for other models that go out of production and wish to stay the course while determining the next car that they may have interest in, sometimes for 2 or more years before declaring their ultimate interest. I have been available to discuss the purchase process and continue to be if anyone has questions about how we do what we do, feel free to contact me at your convenience. I do bristle a bit when people infer something mysterious happens or that we care about you as clients and friends in any way but the correct and honest way. This is a business but one made of relationships and one that means everthing to me so have confidence in the fact that we try to make the correct decisions every time and live with the inequities of dealing with a small production product in a very capable part of the world. I hoe that this opens the door for anyone who may want to chat either on line or directly.

If you couldn't find it, here it is. After analyzing the various spy pics, I sketched what I believe the car will look like. It's a rough sketch (& excuse the quality of the scan), as I haven't had time to do a finished rendering. What do you think?
