308 Gearbox lock nut? Is it left or right hand thread

    Hello all hoping for some help

    Can anyone advise is part number (104252) i.e The lock nut that sits on the end of the lay shaft in the gearbox ( the bell housing end).

    Is this a left hand thread item?, i.e you turn it anti clockwise to torque it, and clockwise to release it?

    See photo attached. You can see the bearing behind the lock nut is damaged, hence why I want the information.
