Someone posted favorite racing quotes thread well I was E-mailed this 5 years ago at the 1st Indy F1 race.....I went to that race, and was even more scared by what I saw and heard! ex. Confederate flag with black electrical tape that read.."Can't bring me down"

    anyway some are funny:

You will be able to find Nascar fans at the USGP.

    Nascar fans will:

be totally plexed when they can't find the Hooters, Pontiac team.

think the John Deere Safety Tractor is neat.

not mind that the track announcer referring to any driver he can't
    pronounce as that "Foreign guy."

be upset the Jordan Girls are all under 120 lbs, and have higher IQ's,
and don't have 4 legs and say "Baaaa".

Arrive at track in a converted school buses.

Think the three "Uncle Jolly's Pork Rhines" gals dressed in spandex
are hot, all 600 plus pounds of them.

be totally confused, when they stand and don't see a pace car to start
    the race.

be really upset when they learn Ferrari pays MS more in one year, then
all the NASCAR fans collective yearly hourly wages.

be bummed out that cannot buy matching shirt and pants that say, "Go
    Get' em Jeff Gordon"

be shooting at the Ferrari's as they drive by because they think they
    are communists (red).

be confused with two cars with the same colors
(NASCAR fans can't count, so the numbers are useless.)

Think the term "Loose" refers to the next day symptoms caused by too
    much racetrack food and drinks.

be disappointed not seeing anyone tumble and barrel roll down the
    front straight.

nearly faint, when they see a car turn right. You will here a faint
buzzing from the crowd, discussing if that is legal or not.

Assume chain link fence around infield is to protect the cars from
    fans

be able to be identified in a sea of flag waving Tifosi's by waving
    their 8 x 12 Confederate Battle Flag

not understand all the fuss about planks. Most of the Nascar fan's
use them to get from the house to the toilet.

Think the term "balance" refers to a beer can in each hand and no beer
    spilled

Think the William's transporters would make a great home for their
    family of 15.

Yep, pretty stupid, and not accurate. Hell, I'm a NASCAR fan (somewhat. I mean, I don't follow it a lot but I'll watch it if I find it on TV) and I wear polo shirts, run cross country, and my dad owns a 360. Big deal. BTW, I've been to both the USGP and the Coca-Cola 600 several times.

Wow, only your third ever post on the race forum and already you are making a huge impact by gracing us with your vast knowledge of racing.

You've added so much value to this forum. Please impart more of you race wisdom we have so much to learn!!!

Can we make the race forum subscription only like the politics and religion forum? Then I'd have two reasons to join instead of just one.

Well thats the first post I've seen from you, and as first impressions go....Your a dumbass with a weak sense of humor! My "vast Knowledge of racing" I post a stereotypical humor list about Nascar and thats my knowledge of racing! Don't friggin post in my threads you waste of time. Obviously everyone of those things listed hit home pretty hard.

No your the dumbass !!! You're in the wrong forum.

Maybe you should read a few more posts on this forum before you actualy post here. I've posted at least a 1000 times on this forum. This is a racing forum where people post about racing. A lot of us Ferrari owners actually enjoy all forms or racing.

Do you actually race or just play "Mr. Racer" on your X-Box?

Next time you get "inspired" and want to crack jokes then go to the off topic forum.

    Regards,

    Jon

I became an F1 fan when a guy named Bandini was driving. I have the same seats every year for the USGP. I have been to every past USGP venue except Phoenix, mostly Watkins Glen (miss the Bog!). I have been to Monza, Monaco, Mosport, and LeMans.

I drive a Boxer and a new Audi A6. At one time I parked a my Pantera next to my Pontiac GTP. I have never owned a pick-up truck. I thankfully did not vote for George W. Bush. I find the Confederate flag to be a joke. Never thought about this until I started writing this post, but I just realized that over 50% of my friends are black or hispanic. I love croissants, I hate grits. My automotive wish list includes a Ferrari Daytona and a 69 Camaro.

Drag racing does not hold my attention. BTCC, DTM, and the IRL do. F1 needs another James Hunt to loosen up the sport. I really enjoyed spending an hour talking with Donnie Allison two weeks ago. Just like the hour I spent with FrancoisCevert years ago.

Moss, Clark, Senna, Prost, Schumacher are/were incredible drivers. I am glad i was able to watch them all race. But even they may not match the skills with an automobile of a guy named Curtis Turner doing 360's on a one lane North Carolina bridge at 100mph. I think Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart would do very well in an F1 car. I do not think there are any F1 drivers that would do well in NASCAR, especially in traffic, except maybe Schumacher. I am glad to see Danica Patrick in the sport and hope she kicks butt and wins a lot of races.

I became a NASCAR fan when a guy named Roberts was a driver. I did not just jump on the bandwagon. I think black and gold cars with the number 22 are some of the best looking race cars ever, built by one of THE best mechanics the last 50 years. I have had the same seats for the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500 for 25 years (actually longer). NASCAR provides the kind of FREQUENT side-by-side competition we do not see in F1. The season finale at Homestead was exciting and fun. For me, the combination of F1 and NASCAR is the BTCC and DTM, but we do not get to see much of that in the USA, so I have to watch F1 and NASCAR.

So you see, I am a NASCAR fan as well as an F1 fan. So to KTG, and others who post these silly NASCAR put down threads, am I the "typical" NASCAR fan? Is there a typical NASCAR fan?

Or maybe some of you just do not understand NASCAR today, or motorsports in general?

That you're a tool and a troll, and should not post in the racing forum until you can join the grown-up table.

    You're also a lousy comedian.

I think you guys need to re-read this and keep a few things in mind. Even NASCAR makes fun of themselves.

Keep in mind the Michael Andretti advertisement, "hang a left and a left here...and a left here.....and another left." remember :)

Its all in good fun guys.

    Keep it cool guys.

I believe the original post is similar to the person who makes a stereotypical joke at a party that while once accepted is now frowned upon as bad taste.

I am a small business owner and one of my vendors is a huge NASCAR sponsor. I therefore get to attend two NASCAR races each year for the past 4 1/2 years. The perception of both the drivers and fans that most people have is ten years too old. I see plenty of middle class people and if you scour the parking lot at Dover or Pocono you will see plenty of BMW's, Benz's and other expensive European machinery.

To lump myself, Jon (whom I am friends with) and others on here as Rednecks doesn't seem to fit too well. Last I checked Jon raced a Ferrari and I have a Porsche race car.

Maybe 5 years ago the joke would seem relevant but no longer.

I bet Christijan Albers and S. Bourdais are not laughing after J. Gordon beat them @ the ROC this year. Gordon lost in the Semi finals after his car broke on the start. Take that one NASCAR bashers!
