looking good Peter, keep it up!
Actually, I haven't taken it yet. Today is the day, a workout with Jack the Butcher (upper body and crunches) and a run later today, where I will employ Redline. We'll see! Nick
I was actually going to ask that. If there is no gut-suck-in factor, the routine looks like it's really working well! Do you feel much more energetic, or is it difficult to tell so early? Good job Peter. Keep up the good work, I'd say FerrariChat is going to lose over 100lbs collectively thanks to your initiative! Nick
Thanks Lamour. Sorry it took so long getting back to you, vacation and all... My actual weight doesn't matter that much to me, it's the fit of my clothes my aerobic stamina and my transferrable strength that is important to me. If Creatine only helps gain "water weight" I guess I am not all that interested in it. I realize that muscles need protein to grow, not sure why creatine makes users retain water. The brand I bought is in chewable tablet form, not bad tasting, no sick feeling after- it's just the stuff they sell at GNC... I guess what I am saying is that I'd like any muscle mass gainage to be sustainable, not something I am going to lose after 15 minutes in the steam room or sauna... any suggestions? Nick
Pic #1 would look like pic #2 if I was 'sucking it in'. Yesterday, I was fine with a banana and an orange for B&L and I BBQ'd a ribeye for dinner with salad (0fat Ceasar dressing) and white corn. Dessert sported 4 jello cups (10 calories, no carbs) with whipped cream. Yummmie!
Okay kids here are the shots that I've been promising you. The first pic is of the bottles of suppliments, second shot is of the actual suppliments themselves. I put a quarter down so you could see the size of the pills. The first two are chewable, and the second two are gel-caps. The final pill is just a cellulose container that was recommended to be filled with baking soda as a 3 cent per day cancer preventative. The way this works is cancer needs an acidic system to grow and the baking soda negates the acid in your system. This is especially helpful for stomach cancer. Why is this not public information? Because there is no money in it. That is what was told to me, so I'll go for it. Would like if Uro could verify... Anyway- latest stats: Weight: 224 Waist: 36, decent fit not tight not loose Height: Still 6'2.5 Bench (sets): 205 Bench (one rep max): Dunno, this happens tomorrow (every Friday). Jack the Butcher says around 230 shouldn't be a problem. We'll see, I think the Creatine is helping and I KNOW the L-Glutamine is helping because I don't feel very sore the day after I work out. TODAY: I am taking the REDLINE before my 3 mile run. Pray my heart doesn't explode. Another update tomorrow! Nick Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Houdini, keep this up and we won't even be able to see your lithe ballerina-like figure! Way to go buddy! --Dan
Try Myoplex shakes...they will give you a good source of high quality protein to help build muscle mass as well as a good balanced dose of vitamins and minerals. Also, I would be careful about taking a lot of those supplements as some of them can cause kidney problems. Research all of their ingredients before you start using them.
I went from 210 in March 2004 to a current 185 while gaining lean mass, so here's my $0.02us, FWIW (I'm not Mr. Atlas, just a regular guy who has lost some weight) Diet alone will only lead to temporary weight loss. You need to combine it with exercise. It really doesn't matter what you do either, doing it consistantly is what matters. Start a gym program and compliment it with active activities (if you will) that you ENJOY. Doing something fun is the key, if you don't like it, it will be a chore and you lose interest. The key to losing weight and maintaining it is not rocket science, just burn more than you take in... so go out and play. As for diet, VBM - variety, balance, moderation. Don't skip meals, it just makes you nungrier and you will end up eating more at your next meal. Also it is OKAY to treat yourself every once in a while. Much like the exercise, if your diet is a chore you are more likely to quit. None of this happens overnight, and if it does, that's not a good thing. Set realalistic and attainable goals, don't tourtore yourself, and plan on this for the long haul. The longer you stick with it, the more successful you'll be. Good luck!
OK, this sucks! I'm at my favorite Chinese-Japanese buffet. I use to hit the sushi table for about 25+ pieces. Now I'm gonna have three each for dessert. It's a huge plate of chicken salad, grilled chicken and veg's. My 'One meal at a time' stinks sometimes, but the scale tells me I am doing the right thing!
Has anyone tried Acetyl L-Carnitine Lipolic Acid? ... I know sounds scary and all scientific and stuff, but it really works well. Basically, it eats away your fat, but also carnitine is the amino acid that is responsible for the transformation of fat into energy, so by supplying your body with an excess amount of a certain amino acid it can take out more fat and give you more energy, not like a rush but you won't be tired. Also, I use a protein shake called "Countdown" you get it at GNC too. It is specifically designed to help with muscle soreness and fatigue. You drink it within 45 minutes to 2 hours after your workout. AND the best part about countdown is unlike most other protein powders that are loaded down in calories this is only 230 calories a serving, so it's like a quasi- diet protein shake.
I dropped a little over 5 pounds, slow going but I'm happy to be losing at least something. I've been playing lumberjack at work for the last week and a half so I may have turned some of the flab into muscle so thats a good thing also. I have been doing good with what I'm eating staying away from carbs just having a little bit of rice here and there.
UPDATE on Peter. I had not seen Peter for about a month, and today when he showed up to the Kart track, he was looking lean and mean. Looking good Pete! Keep it up! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey PeterS, hope you are doing well with your weight loss. I just lost 25lbs, and dropped 48 cholesterol points in the last 3 months (See my last post in this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73173 Dom
Peter, I am with you. I have hit 200 and I am only 31!! GF has already put me on a diet, but I think if I have to post my weight here, its even more movitavetion to stop being a FAT BASTARD. Biggest Loser ALA F-Chat.
I've lost 20lbs in the past three months (almost to the day). Not sure how much weight in fat I lost because I have been putting on some muscle, too. It's pretty easy to drop the weight if you're a routine kind of person.
Keep going PeterS and everyone else trying to lose weight in this thread, your well on track to reaching your goals now!
Stop wasting your time on F-chat and use that time to exercise. If you lost a pound for every post you would be negative 6,554 pounds(Awesome)!!! Just kidding, we'd miss you. Good luck!!!
