Merry Cashmas - I wouldn't put Christmas Presents on C.C. if it was 0.0% interest. Picking things out locally is for the better good for a multitude of reasons.

Given the assortment of sales channels (web, mail order, etc), it's really hard to buy things for Xmas without using your credit card. The real question is how much of that bill will still be on your card accruing interest after 30 days?

We are right there with you. My wife (who I call the CFO) does all the bills and pays off the CC every month without fail. Pretty much everything I do is with the CC and then Amy only has a couple of bills to pay every month.

I've got a similar question: Who will give a store gift card as a christmas present? I read that gift card sales are through the proverbial roof this year.

I won't give any. If I don't know somebody well enough to pick out a christmas present that they'd like, why am I giving them a present to begin with?

This year I'm taking care of myself: http://www.atsracing.net/CT27.htm and a fresh paint job. Everyone else gets a card.

For large purchases I always use a CC just in case there are problems (easier to have the CC company stop payment if things are not what they should be and for over all purchase insurance) but always have the cash on hand to pay it off immediately.

So, does that mean I'm using the CC or not as I'm not carrying a balance?
