There is a refinery here that has a warm water outlet into a local marina so the Bonito congregate there!

Easy pickens to fill up the baitwell for Makos!

    Shad are pretty tasty, too.

Smallmouth bass are great fun to fish for with topwater lures.

That's great! I notice you live in Southlake! I hunt Grapevine lake a bit for ducks! I drive right through Southlake. I was actually out there this past Saturday....it sucked! As a matter fo fact....it has really sucked all year! This water is sooo low. No food for these ducks. All the creeks are dry and the fields have no food either! I thought for sure that cold front would bring a bunch down. I imagine they were here and left the same day! Been a frustrating year for sure! Public land is difficult for sure.

Your Boykin is awesome! I have an 8 month old Black Lab! I decided to have him professionally trained! I'm heading back to school to get my MBA and just have very little time to train him myself. I sure miss him! He shoudl be back home in tow months. He's down in Houston right now! Aside from time...he is my first lab and I wasn't patient enough to do the training myself! It was a tough decision, but... I did a lot of work choosing a breeder and I got the best one for me! I didn't want to F-UP a perfectly good dog!

    Jay

Edit...oh yeah...here's a pic of my little guy!

Liar! Biggest and best up there! Halibut just plain rules!

I've got 3 (Smith, Winchuck, Chetco) river mouths within 7 miles; The Klamath is about 25 miles away; and the Rogue is about 45 miles away.
Lots of salmon and steelhead fishing here. Prefer steelhead--what a fighter!
Prefer the Smith. Put in at the forks, drift downstream, right through Redwood National Park...it just doesn't get any better, imo.
I usually put my fish in the 'Little Chief'--what are you guys doing?

Same on the Connecticut River where I grew up. Fishing by the nuke plant was always good. Of course, some say that fishing for fish that glow isn't sporting. I say if the fish cared at all about being sporting they wouldn't hide under all that water. Anyway, those little suckers put up a great fight!

I mostly fish in the Barnegat Bay and off the Seaside Pier (both in NJ). Flukes, blues, stripers, the usual...

    Gotta find some pictures.

John, do you charter the boat to go tuna fishing, or do you go out on your own boat?
