What crimes didn't he commit? He is going to die because of what HE DID. Society didn't create this monster, he made choices. Bad choices. The people he killed didn't have even 30 seconds to think about all of the things they would not get to see in life, this scumbag has had 30 years. Big surprise that he "turned his life around" he finally realized he was going to die. This world will be a better place without him.

I just noticed this thread so I may be repeating what others have said, but put the needle in his arm and let the families of the victims show him the crip gang sign when they open the valve.

If the punk was convicted in Texas, he would have been dead a long, long time ago. We move em' along. God needs to have a chat with them and Texas obliges.

    The countdown continues...

Here is a convicted murderer who is simply getting what he deserves. Killing people and then writing some children's books will not cut it. What could he have done to undo his crime and restore to those families what are irreplaceable loved ones??? Even expressing remorse, which he has not done, would be empty words.

Why set precedence that doing good after a crime absolves the criminal of the crime?
The status quo of an accused getting a fair trial and being dutifully convicted by a jury, and receiving the maximum allowable punishment is merely what is playing out with this case.

Yes, it is deterence. Yes, it is justice.

i believe some dead kennedys lyrics (with some editing to fit the current situation) would be quiet nice to have now...

Efficiency and progress is ours once more
Now that we have the neutron bomb
It's nice and quick and clean and gets things done
    Away with excess enemy
But no less value to property
No sense in war but perfect sense at home

The sun beams down on a brand new day
No more welfare tax to pay
Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light
    Jobless millions whisked away
At last we have more room to play
All systems go to kill Tookie tonight

    Gonna
Kill kill kill kill kill Tookie tonight

    Behold the sparkle of champagne
    The crime rate's gone
    Feel free again
O life's a dream with you, miss lily white
Jane fonda on the screen today
    Convinced the liberals it?s okay
So let's get dressed and dance away the night

    While they
Kill kill kill kill kill Tookie tonight

I passed by San Quentin on my way home tonight. LOTS of folks protesting and lots of camera crews. I heard an interview with a prison guard who says that Tookie (and other Crips in SQ) continue with gang administrative duties from inside the big house. This guard is positive that Tookie is not reformed or redeemed. With the Governator, 9th Circus and Supremes declining to put a stop to this, it's lights out at 12:01 am.

one of the worst things about this episode are the wackos on the left making this clown out to be a hero, as soon as i started hearing the hero garbage my mind was made up, a needle in the arm is alot better then what he deserves

    Everything else does count.

If Penalty is reduced (in this case, to life)

EVERYBODY so inclined who is incarcerated or (about to go) on trial (hell, even when they're just a suspect) will jump on the super-dynamo do-gooder bandwagon.
    _______________________________________________________________

I'm gonna sleep right through the execution (and early stages of civil unrest, if any)

I do wonder if this'll reignite the war between Crips and Beaners, though.

Him and all the other death row inmates spared by Rose Byrd and her little junta.

I say kill Tookie with the same instrument he killed those 4 people; with a shotgun. Of course, the slow lethal injection will give him a chance to start crying like a little ***** girl before he dies.

He bugs me for the fact of what he did but also that he tries to get parole every 4-5 years....

And with "Tookie," everyone is saying if he dies tonight he will miss out on so much in life. But if he were to stay alive it would be life in prison with no bail. So what more would he achieve as far as experiences in life.. How the earth goes by from a 1x1 window? Not being harsh, just trying to figure it out...

I would like to know from the 11 that voted to spare his life one of two things:

1- You are just anti-death penalty(which is fine, and I nor anyone else can judge you for that)

    OR

2- You believe that he is a changed man and would only do right for the rest of his stay in the big house.

    Just curious.. :)

Yes, execute him ! The only reason to waive the penalty for a person on death row should be if exonerating evidence or at least evidence that casts a doubt on his guilt came along.

Wavering just because of supposed repentance or good done whilst in prison just weakens the penalty as a deterrence. Waiting 30 years to carry it out sure doesn't help either, but at least now you're sure you're executing the right guy.

BTW, why are people talking about him being fried, isn't it Lethal Injection there ?
