In a recent interview Jamie Foxx said in Playboy that he bugged Mann into doing the remake. So the remake is really Jamie's idea.
MIAMI VICE ... LIVING LARGE HOT CHICKS FAST CARS MUSIC IN THE AIR.... SUNSET VIEWS , CITY LIFE .. ACTION , ACTION. ONLY IN MIAMI STYLE IS LIFE JOHN
I hope and think it would be pretty cool if Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas have a cameo or little part in the new movie.
What ??? This will be terrible , I think that it's going to be another $cash$ hollywood movie with recognazible title !!!!! MV are Don Jonson & Phillip Michael Thomas , Don Jonson & Phillip Michael Thomas are MV... That's all ...
Will Smith would make a better Tubbs. And how about Owen Wilson as Crockett? Morgan Freeman as Castillo!
nope, nope, nope, nope...I'm getting so I HATE all these damn remakes. Oh and rap instead of rock, of course.....
Couldn't agree more. There hasn't been one remake of ANYTHING old that's been at least half as good as the original. They all suck. I, for one, am not looking forward to an MV remake.
http://www.miamivicemovie.com/main.html Miami vice trailer right here, with many many shots of them crusing in the F430 spider...enjoy...
Sorry to keep posting this in every MV thread, but you guys need to understand that Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral, Ali, Last of the Mohicans)was the original creator of the show, and it is his trademarke style that made it so revolutionary, not the cheesey actors (since when did DJ and PMT become legends? Did PMT ever work again??). He is making this movie and for that reason alone it should be held in a different catagory than all the remakes (Dukes of Hazzard). It has been his project since day one, and it will not be a watered down remake, it will be a fully realized motion picture. The TV show was the watered down version.
I loved the series.. Still have 25 videotapes of the show, and of course the 1st season on dvd. I have all the episodes and just keep on watching, even visited Miami for the locations. My mate is running the best Vice site in the world (as voted..) A dutch site, but all in english of course, have a look at his huge database incl former people of the show at : http://www.miami-vice.org This series changed my life, I was 18 till 23 years old when the show was running. (1984/1989). Can't wait to see the movie.
Agreed. It is Michael Mann that is the true genius here. I can remember an episode situating around an IMSA race throught the streets of Miami. Classic!
That's right... the episode "Florence Italy". Incluced a nice night chase between the "F" and a Porsche 904.
Or the one with the bad guy driving a black Lambo Countach. I believe our very own Jeroen Krabbe starred in that one as Gina's father.
Did you know on this date in 1985 Phil Collins made his acting dayview as a drug dealer on Miami Vice? This was on the light rock station today as they went on to play I Missed Again. Sorry guys, now you'll have that song stuck in your head the rest of the day!
Or perhaps you mean 'debut'? I can very well remember Phil as the sleazy dopepusher. He pulled that one off very well.
