On Wednesday Gold Rush picked up my 430 and an Enzo in the northeast. The truck is heading to Colorado then to California. Since Wednesday I've had no contact with Gold Rush. The dispacher back in North Carolina won't tell me where the truck is other than it is somewhere still in the northeast. The truck driver has not returned any calls to me or my dealer. Does anyone have a phone number I could call other than the 800 number in North Carolina? Is Ken Gold the owner and is there a phone number for him? I'm just trying to get some input on the whereabouts of the truck and an estimated delivery time of my car. My stress level is high when people won't say where the truck is or return calls.

You're in Denver, you do know the storm that has gone from mid-west all the way to the east. I'm sure it is OK, maybe just delayed.

Nothing to worry about. I have used GOLDRUSH thrice. They delivered my TR just a few weeks back. The drivers call you one day before delivery. I wouldnt worry about it.

    trust me

I used them to ship my 328 from North Carolina to Denver this summer.
They dented the targa area behind the passenger compartment (both sides passenger & drivers) getting in and out of the car...oh sure they had Demi Moore's Viper on board but so what. The dents were pretty large. The driver made note of the new dents on the shipping form, and commented that it was his bosses wife who loaded me car. The driver then told me who to call along with a telephone number. I called left a message & didn't even get the courtesy of a return call..

    Unless he's changed it recently, Ken Gold's cell # is (702) 278-3400.

FWIW, I used Horseless recently and was able to get the cell # of the driver. I called the dealer and got the drivers name from the bill of lading and then called Horseless directly and asked for the drivers cell. The driver was very cooperative and said call any time when he was on route. Tipped the guy $50 for the good job.

That's bogus if you can't get the drivers cell number to get a status update.

i talked to Ken this week on that number and had them pick up my Jalpa. i just found out an hour or so ago, because i called them, that the truck with my Lamborghini is broken down. i did speak with the driver (TONY) and he was very nice ,and said that he would get the car delivered to me by tuesday. the promised delivery date is tuesday so i cant fault them for things that are out of thier control.

however : if the car shows any signs of bieng driven ( i have the loading pics of the odometer the seller took) or if the car is damaged, there will be hell to pay :) ! for what its worth i am paying $1850.00 to have the Jalpa shipped from Las vegas to my house in Georgia. Intercity was cheaper, ( quoted $1605.00) but with a 3 week delivery / pickup window.

will update when i know something. MICHAEL

He's looking for a truck coming the other way Micheal....

I watch the neighborhood SaudiArabian Int'l. Shippers load up all the time.

Most of them are careful, but then once in awhile one will turn the wrong way on our street and the trees beat the cr@p out of the cars on the top level......LOL!

Mostly Mercedes, thankfully, but I've seen 'em with an Fcar every now and then........

I used horseless carriage to ship my 3000 GT VR4 to ohio. The driver was in constant contact with me and the new owner of the car. It was 600.00 + to get the car shipped and I would and will use HC again.

please do, or PM me. my Lamboghini is "somewhere".... and they told me the truck broke down. i guess if its here as promised tuesday i have no concerns nor a valid reason to complain.

    "BUT" ........ i am worried. :(

edit.... got off my butt and called Ken. he was very polite, very nice and assured me nothing is going on with the car. mechanical breakdowns and wierd weather are of course out of their control and understandable. i should know more on monday, but speaking with him really helped put me at ease. :)

update : the truck with my Lambo on it is disabled 1000 miles away. now i am told that the part for the truck that was ordered NEXT DAY AIR on friday has dissappeared, and cannot be tracked by the computer tracking method. ( ???)

now its going to be "as soon as possible" .

i do understand these things happen. however, i am going to ask Ken what he will do with the $1850.00 charge for shipping.

    Michael.

Did you have a guaranteed delivery date?

If so you might have some leverage, otherwise probably not.

Also, I'm guessing every contract has a "natural event" clause of some sort that buys them time if the weather, or other acts beyond their control delays delivery.

i am not so much crying over the money as i am the fact i paid them way more than any of the other shippers prices because they stressed fast fast fast delivery. i could have flown there and been back with the car by now for less money. now the car may be here on thursday. not to bore everyone with my work, but i cannot start doing maintenance on a customers aircraft and just leave on a whim. there are super duper strict rules and inspection procedures that demand we finish what we start as safety and quality are primary concerns on our aircraft.
in short, my whole work schedule has now been screwed up because of this and that costs me even more money on a compounded level due to lost overtime /doubletime.

its not just " the car is late ". :(

My car is supposed to arrive on Thursday or Friday. I am keeping my fingers crossed. After the car arrives I will be able to explain the situation better.

I have used Horseless Carriage and Passport Transport in the past with no problems.

I always recveived a call 24 hours prior to delivery and have never had any damage to the many cars I have had shipped.

That said, accidents do happen. Select your carrier carefully and like with everthing else, sometimes the lowest price is not the lowest price.

last car i had shipped i used Luxury Auto Transport. they were perfect

i've used a bunch of them, VIP, Exotic Car Trans, etc, never a problem

i considered using Gold Rush last time (because i had considered buying a car out of Florida and wanted it picked up immediately), but now i'm glad i didn't.
i didn't get good vibes about them over the phone, so i passed.

    let us know what happens

hopefully they didn't "depot" the car....meaning many unloads and reloads

hopefully your odometer will read the same as it did when it left

Intercity has my vote. Flawless delivery of my 355B. They're also a board sponsor.
