This color is called Grigio Metallizato by Ferrari.

I've been trying to get an idea for how this color looks in the real world. I have reviewed posts and pics, and even went to a local body shop and looked at the reference sample shown in their paint catalog.

I have tons of pics, some show cars in dark gray and some in light gray. Some look like platinum, and some look gray/blue. I know a lot depends on lighting, shade, time of day, sunlight, etc.

I am very near buying a nice TR in this color....but won't take the long drive (with trailer) to the car until I know for sure how it will look. If it's dark gun metal gray then I will pass on it. If it's a lighter shade of gray then I will probably go and inspect it. I'm posting some pics to show you why I'm so confused.

Did they change this color at some point? Are there different types of this color, like with or without the metallic?

I've emailed a couple people with grigio cars asking for some input but haven't heard anything back. I need to decide in a few days. Please help me out here Gang!!

That's basically the issue. Many metallic colors are that way... on modern cars, there a many metallic burgundy colors that look very dull on overcast days, but brilliant metallic red when the sun is out. Grigio is the same way. So there are no simple words to describe how they look.

On my screen the nose photo looks like my understanding of that colour - usually works best with a dark red interior - should work well on a TR - isn't there a thread somewhere here with cars shown associated with their paint code ?
